How to turn on Nintendo Switch Split screen?

Hi there, just wondering if anyone has above mention version and knows if split screen is a thing and if so can it be played with 1 joy con per player? I cant figure it out by myself

I don't have the Switch version, but Splitscreen is very much a thing! So I'll make some educated guesses on how you'd do it:

Re-assign the controllers from the Home screen. Then enter The Grid (the one with the helmet as its 'icon') and have each player press a button on its racer select. From there, select your racers and tracks, and enjoy the rally!

Unfortunatly this doesnt seam to do the trick ;/
