Yeat another post about how bad Niflheim is.

It may be an optional area but it is tied to an achievement, so you still have to do it, in a manner of speaking, and this process plain disgusting.
Pure random all around including main quest of the area! What moron thought it was a good game design!? You can finish gathering damn Mist Anchors in like an hour or find ONE out of three in over 10 hours of grind!!
The worst thing about it is not the fact that you can't deal with random using your skill, like the rest of the game, no! Simply letting Sindri make one Mist Anchor for, say, 10000 Mist Echoes, 20 Niflheim Alloys and 5 Haze Weaves - the problem would've never existed!

I've got four in a couple hours. I feel like the probability of finding one goes up as you open more chests in a single run. Could be just me, I dunno.

I can make it around the circle, maybe half the time, depending on luck with monster spawns.

No, the worst part of Niflheim is the second realm tear. If you haven't tried that one yet, I won't spoil it for you, just.... good luck.

I have to start this area now, just finished all muspelheim. Sounds like absolute cancer.

It's essentially a rogue-like with a timer. The room arrangement does not change, only the chests and enemies do. It's in the shape of a diamond, with two rooms off-shooting on two of the sides. Niflheim-specific armor helps extend the time.

If you don't make it back to start before the timer runs out, you lose all your rewards.

The center of the diamond has a bunch of chests to open (and three realm tears) but many of them are locked behind Niflheim-specific currency.

I open minimum 4 per run (one from each base fight room around the center chamber).
If l'm "lucky" with RNG on best runs I got up to 7... On GOW difficulty...

Mist Anchors are very rare items that you can only find in legendary chests in the two battle zones (only one entrance). But be careful: You can't just rush there and hope for such a drop. You have to open other chests first to allow a drop of Mist Anchors.

Well, so far these side rooms were unlucky for me. I try to do at least one per run but if enemies are something like bunch of witches + elf boss - I just bounce right away...

in order to loot mist the anchor form the chest you need to have 3000 or more mist echos
then you go too the the mini boss room kill the enemies and loot it i got 3 mist anchor in about 1 hour that way .

You can get 1 Mist Anchor in every run, if you killed the Valkyre there

Man my memory is hazy. I platinumed this on PS4 and I don't remember anything worthy of
as much complaining as Nifleheim is getting on this board.

Maybe it is that bad, but I just don't remember, I'll have to get there and see for myself eventually, I guess.

They are fun though. Then again. Question is why are people going for the achievements if they are not having fun doing them?
