Why do some mods not work?

I've downloaded a lot of mods but only like 90% of them work. Specifically the minigun and some avatars

Sometimes the mods are in an extra folder, often if they include multiple versions. Make sure the files are only one folder deep and not multiple folders deep. If you open the folder and the .json files are there, it’s right. (it should be the folder with the authors name and mod name) it’s also possible you grabbed the wrong version (I’ve done it before myself, since the mod.io site doesn’t put the quest/android/windows versions in a specific order on the side, but one of them is more often fist so occasionally I just click the wrong one by accident. Also, some mods just simply don’t work, be it a troll mod (which sadly do exist because people are jerks) or just a problem in the mod itself.

Make sure you didn't accidentally download the android version of the mod. Some mods are exclusive to the Quest 2 because the modders didn't make PC version

YEP cant get any mods to show up and i have literally tried everything and have done everything as I am supposed to do

I got the aimbot mod cuz i'm blind, but it's not working. I got it from thunderstore since thats the only place i can find it.

i think some mods don't work if the mod was made in patch 2 and not updated for patch 3's modding update
