How do you guys deal with the wire for VR
Anyone got some advice for it? I played boneworks originally and it was fun but I had moments where the wire was kind of annoying. I thought about picking this up from the quest store just to play it without anyone wires but I don't know how big of a downgrade it is.

I've played other VR games just fine but when it comes to this one, I always find myself turning to much one way and end up with a cable wrapped around.

once i got vr i quickly taught myself to basically never turn irl and only use snapturn in-game and in addition i have the cable kinda hooked high up to my dresser so its not just laying on the ground, that really helps.

I'm using a quest 2 with the fiber cable attached to my computer.

Maybe thats what I need to do to get it to help be less in the way. I try my best not to turn in IRL but with boneworks I literally just can't help it. Its not impossible to play its just more annoying if anything.

i use a pulley system attached to my ceiling to keep the cord off the floor and keep it from tangling up with my legs, but i do occasionally have to take the headset off to let the cord itself untwist so it doesn't rip itself apart or anything

I bought my Quest 2 solely for wireless PCVR play.

if you get a long cable, just attach it to your headstrap and snake it through your headset so it goes down the back of your head. that way you minimize the chance of ripping the cable out, though youll occasionally have to adjust its position if you move too much. if you have a good router or internet speeds, just use virtual desktop. you can still play the steam version of the game that way :raven:

Play wirelessly using Airlink or Virtual Desktop.

Yeah I can attest to this being the state of my set up as well because I have a relatively small area to play with and I dont want to hit my controllers on stuff, I put my back leg up against something in my room and use that to orient myself so I dont hit anything, though it does still happen occasionally.

also I don't know about you guys but my HDMI cables get shredded every now and then because Im still rocking an HTC vive and there is a clasp on the headset that clamps down on the HDMI connector when I turn my head upwards and it makes me occasionally have to buy new cables just from wear and tear.

I don't know if that's just a normal experience for VR like buying new face foams when they degrade or if its just old headset skill issue.

Snap-turn 45 or 90 degrees depending on the game. It's become a reflex to not fully turn around anymore.

This is how I do it. Looking forward to the Index wireless adapters, but until then this is perfectly fine for me.

Some people use overhead wire management stuff, and some people do it lowtech.
I keep it real simple, if I am doing a short session (like an hour or two?) I'll just run the wire up the back of my shirt. If I know I am going to do a lot of stuff and achievement hunt or otherwise just go for unlockables and be in for like three hours or maybe four, I'll run the wire up the back of a bra too so it stays extra snug and in place. I never really run into the issue of mumifying myself in wires, though I certainly could with my 30 ft wire and playing so close to my pc. I think my habit of stomping my feet periodically to get the blood flowin' doubles as a "hey, untangle yourself!"
You just kind of learn various tricks as you go, or find shortcuts. Oculus users also can pull out Virtual Desktop which runs you like $20 and cuts out the wire assuming you have a good local wifi and preferably a wired connection. I did a run through on some bonelab levels with it and while I had some jitters it wasn't terrible but not worth the effort for me.

I just don't move my legs' direction during vr other than to bend
