In short if you want just mods and sandbox then bonelab is worth it, but if you want more story focus then its not
It is NOT worth 40, 20 would have been good.
The really stellar mods are almost non existent as most people are waiting for the SDK (incomplete and almost useless at launch in a game about modding...) to actually be finished.
The base game content is a roller coaster, most of it is okay, a little is awesome, and a small bit is straight up dog sh*t
