Thoughts on Patch 4
I honestly think Patch 4 is a great update to the game, especially in terms of clarity in the campaign. There is a ton of small changes sprinkled out through the campaign that just make it so much better to actually play though especially for first time players that don't have past experience with BONEWORKS. I also just think the game graphically looks more colorful and I love the lighting changes. Biggest improvement for me though has to be the player rig, it just feels a lot more smooth when doing things. I don't know the best way to describe it in text but just pay attention to the gun play and other basic things like climbing and just navigating scenes, it just feels a lot better. Overall I think this is a really good start to improving the game and hopefully this means updates for the game wont take NEARLY as long to come out lmao.

They said they want around 6 weeks in between patches, don't know how accurate this will end up being but it has been said.

In terms of patch 4, I think it's alright. We knew it wasn't gonna add much actual game content because of the dev's tweets, but the improvements are definitely welcome. Physics on the avatar feel less frustrating and jank, lighting overall looks a bit nicer, performance is better. etc.

I do kind of wish we had like a new medium-sized level from the developers to show off the improvements and just give us more physical content, but I'm happy enough with this for now. We finally got an update and with more on the way throughout the year, hopefully this kickstarts the modding community again.

It's fine I guess, but for almost 2 years of development it's way smaller than expected. They didn't even touch the map list, it's still a simple text-based list with no thumbnails or anything like that. They should've replaced the map list with something similar to gmod's map browser, with categories, thumbnails, descriptions and favorites.

supposedly, theyve got patches lined up for the foreseeable future until idk when, but seems like they've split up these patches to make the work load more manage or something i guess? idk but i feel like all the good stuff the players really are gonna go bustin over is being split up between these 6-week interval patch updates.

it was alright. the updated SDK will help mods for sure, the IK is a bit weird, but ill manage. it isnt overwhelmingly amazing or utterly terrible, its just okay.

I'm just worried about all the abandoned mods that may not be updated. Nonetheless, Patch 4 was great- and I can't wait for Patch 5.

Yeah unfortunately a lot of mods aren't gonna be updated, that's pretty much a given. I just hope we get a wave of new mod authors to make up for it.
