My Kids
So i am not super familiar with this game, i've seen some funny videos of boneworks, but i figured lemme grab the game and see what it's all about.

First thing i do is put a noose around my neck....

How much worse does this get, because my 8 year old wanted me to get it, and while i don't mind some violence, i don't want him getting into some RE 7-esque stuff.

That's about as bad as the game gets, fortunately. It's an execution anyways.

BONEWORKS actually had an arguably darker story, ending with your character's physical body being shot.

BONELAB has a more upbeat story with themes of freedom and creation nearing the end, but is lighter on story overall.

Personally I would never let my eight year old play this game, so I’d advice against it. You do kill people in this game and there’s blood. There’s no more gore than that but this is VR so it’s already too much for such a young child. Also, long VR sessions aren’t good for the development of balancing in young children. Letting them play too much VR can cause permanent balancing difficulties. So I personally wouldn’t let him get on VR for more than 3 hours a week.

He barely plays VR and i do agree with you about to much VR (or mobile, or youtube or whatever). I actually have a problem with all these YouTubers marketing their videos to kids and playing all these horror games.

Ii haven't let him play this yet because im still looking into the game, although i haven't looked into it since i hung myself in the beginning and wandered around a bit.

Personally I wouldn't let any kids play VR in general. Study has shown that it can actually hinder their body coordination. First time playing VR as an adult was already kinda wonky but I can't imagine a child who hasn't fully comprehended coordination quite yet playing VR. I would suggest waiting until they're 13+ for them to play VR.

8 Year olds are too young for VR. You're seriously messing up your kid's eyes putting a headset on them. Stereoscopic 3D devices aren't good for kids under 9 years of age, it's why Nintendo made a 2D version of the 3DS handheld midway into it's life cycle. Because parent's couldn't figure out how to lock the 3D feature on the original, so they made a whole new version without it.

I agree with this. It's best to not let young children on VR at all...

♥♥♥♥ you. vr is fine for kids. "it can hinder there body coordination". you sound like one of those people who say "blue light is bad for you and your kids eyes" a recent study shows that it actually doesnt hurt your eyes. in a few years people are going to be saying the same thing for vr too. so shut up and let us enjoy our lives before we become like you, getting a job and caring too much about the little things that mean nothing.

It's not even about their eyes it's their hand eye coordination since the VR world acts a lot differently from the real world.

Don't even respond to these absolute turds of humanity. It's just part of the internet experience. Anyway, i respect your thoughtful insight. Don't worry about these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Fact of the matter is, as soon as there's a kneejerk angry reaction, i know that the fact i was questioning anything in the first place was the correct thing. I know i'm not perfect, or a perfect parent. It's cool, but i'm trying to do whats best.

As i stated earlier, i didn't ever play any kinda boneworks or Bonelabs game. I saw videos of fun stunts, and killing skeletons and whatever. So yes, when i started it up and i had to hang a noose around my neck i immediately thought... well this might not be for kids. And i got my answers without a bunch of a aggressive douchebags coming in to ruin the conversation. So I thank you.
