Where currently find mods, and where to install them. [ModIO]
Currently the folks on the bonelab modding discord are posting their mods on Mod.IO.

-> https://mod.io/g/bonelab

Please follow the documentation provided by mod.io as to how to download mods from the website. Noone's paying me to teach you guys this stuff.

Most creators have an external download link on their mod page too.

This was specifically made just for bonelab (for now.. to my knowledge?). Expect a steady stream of stuff to trickle in on there.

PC Default mod folder is: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\LocalLow\Stress Level Zero\BONELAB\MODS

For quest modding you will have to link your quest to your pc then navigate to: PC\Quest 2\Internal shared storage\Android\data\com.StressLevelZero.BONELAB\files\Mods

If you only have a mobile phone, there are apps usable via Sidequest that allow transfer of files from phone to quest. Same folder in that case.

Bless you, modding this game on my own is a pain in the ass. This is extremely helpful.

I'm just doing my best to help.

Not to mention providing this sorta thing keeps the forum from being flooded with too many people asking where to find mods and makes more room for legitimate game discussion.

THANKS
Thank you for posting this! Youre amazing! I'm definitely gonna be downloading that Adam smasher avatar! Some of these are really cool. This is such a great start. Hopeful for the future of bonelab.

Yeah that website doesnt actually say how to download a mod. Sorry man but I need some kind of info because its telling me to add an API. It does not define what an API is, it does not actually say ANYWHERE in the documentation how to actually download a mod. I can make an account and subscribe, but there is no download anywhere.

For people wondering, what no one seemed to ever say is that the site has 2 different versions. The new site and the old site. At the top of the website, there is a button to try the old site. Use this to go back to the old site and there is a cloud icon that actually allows you to download the mod. I have no idea why no one thought to mention this.

Just need to go down to live releases and click the .zip to download and drag the extracted files into the bonelab mods folder in your stresslevel 0 appdata folder

If you click on the mod you want to download, look under the subscribe button for the "Live Files" section. Usually, there's Windows and Android, click the one that corresponds to your device and then click the file. The website is garbage, if you use the old site by pressing the button at the top it might save some irritation. Don't know why so many devs feel the need to ♥♥♥♥ up their already good UI design because they want it to "look modern".

Be sure that you downloaded the windows version. Quest versions of mods will not load. For example, as of right now, the Venom mod is only for quest. Make sure to download from the WINDOWS section.

it is my understanding bonelab direct downloads are coming in the future, but does not currently work, and that the duckseason and hoverjunkers stuff is baked in?

You just download a zip and unpack it to a folder. If this is difficult for you, maybe you are the problem?

Yes you just need to navigate to a hidden folder path. Some people do not feel comfortable doing that and its not their fault. Mods were supposed to be available IN GAME from day 1. Yes its easy to mod for us, but its not what was promised.
