What's the best pistol upgrade? Double revolver or the Mauser C96 (called Noller G40 in game)? Also need some suggestions regarding the skills in general. Playing Journalist, Hard mode. 1sr play-through .

I'd probably end up with the Mauser but I am curious about what's the best.

Also in which skills should I spend my points in general?

I am currently at the third level, I took all the skills that give you more xp per kill and I'm levelling up very fast, now I have 2 points to use, was thinking about taking the Mauser and the ammo pouch, or taking flashlight upgrade 2 that unlocks more health upgrade.

Mauser is a borderline sniper and is super efficient. The only thing double revolver has is dps but its negligible and you can use upgraded SMG as the dps option for pistol ammo. I dont upgrade it for explosive damage because it starts competing with necronomicon launcher or w/e for same ammo type and do similar things.

The revolver has slightly more dmg per shot but much more spread.

The Mauser has very fast attack speed and it is much more ammo efficient than the upgraded Sten machine gun.

I used the Mauser a lot on expert difficulty as you need to manege your ammo.

So I prefer the Mauser it can be used from long distances too and snipe stuff.

The Noller G40 (mauser) is absolutely the way to go. It's extremely effective for scoring head shots and breaking liquidator tanks, as well as dealing with flying enemies like Entities of Torment.

I never even use the Trockentod MP 18.
