We are excited to announce the release of Version 1.4 "Kalliope" for Kitsu’s Destiny! This update brings a host of new features, improvements, and fixes to the game.

First and foremost, we have removed the accidental debug menu that was causing some confusion for players. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

We have also added new music to the game, composed by the talented Projekt Kalliope (a.k.a. Myself, formerly known as Extrasolar Detonation). We hope you enjoy these new tunes as you explore the world of Kitsu’s Destiny.

In terms of gameplay improvements, we have fixed some odd conditions that were only allowing certain Dark Lady moves to proc every 3 turns. This should make combat more fluid and enjoyable.

We have also added 50% of weapon ATK to MAT to make using skills more viable. This should provide more strategic options for players during combat.

In addition, we have added AGL and LUK to all Armory items. This should provide more customization options for players as they build their characters.

We have also fixed a bunch of typos in the True Ending. We apologize for any confusion these may have caused and hope that the story is now clearer and more immersive.

We have also fixed an issue with wealth not appearing in save files properly. This should prevent any loss of progress or frustration for players.

In terms of quality of life improvements, we have allowed running in the throne room. This should make navigating this area much quicker and more enjoyable.

We have also added some extra cool effects to the story. We won’t spoil anything here, but we hope you enjoy these new additions!

I've come to the decision that I will be discontinuing the Dark Lady 18+ Pinup Pack DLC on April 30th. This is mainly so the entire Deluxe Edition can be bought without needing to disable the explicit content filter and the entire game as available sans that DLC, which adds zero gameplay. The DLC itself was only ever intended as a bonus for early purchasers. I will not be reducing the price of the DLC however, as I don't intend to cater to the discontinued games community again. I still have a bad taste in my mouth from last time… mostly out of guilt.

And I'll be blunt, I only did it because I accidentally created a DLC package in the Steam backend and didn't know how to undo it. In the end, I took a bunch of AI art I made for personal use with Novel AI's top level plan, so I had commercial rights.

In addition, I've since realised that AI art is a very touchy subject in the artist community, and thus will be removing it from sale. It's unfair that artists can have their work used to train these AI models unwillingly, and I'd like to see some proper AI regulation around both art and text models, but this is not a post about tech regulation.

I will still use AI art tools for personal use, as I have a local installation of Stable Diffusion right now, but I won't commercialise any AI content until a reasonable solution has been found for these issues.

Also, as an aside, any work on the game may be even further hampered as I've ended up getting a job as a volunteer Communications Officer at a local LGBT-focussed community legal service. The reputation factors of such a job are another reason why I am taking the DLC down, but at this point… it's mainly to cover my own butt in case of other bad events.

I've turned this discontinuation notice into another blog like post, but I feel that it's important to connect with owners of the game to make sure I'm not dead. Still, I don't think Game 2 will get off the ground if this job works out.

I am also aware that the website is currently unavailable. This is intentional. We currently have no website. The domain name still functions, and my email is still functional, despite a change of host.

I did also have hernia surgery about three weeks ago, and I still can't lift heavy objects for the next three either, so I'm having to get extra help around the house from my nationalised disability insurance.

That's it for now. I'm still going to compile the stuff for the next patch, obviously. The goal for the 1.3 patch is to have it out for the Spring sale.

Now the (admittedly self-created) drama from January has passed, I have changed the game's price to what I believe it to be once I've completed balancing, testing, and whatever new features. I apologise for the radio silence, I've been having an absolute nightmare of a time offline and have just basically been in my room crying most days.

The IT course absolutely did not work out, and I've once again been struggling to get my life in order. My mental and physical health has been a disaster, and most of my first royalty check is earmarked for medical bills.

Not an excuse, just an explanation. I need to do a little better, and I have some feedback. It may just take me a while to get around to doing it.

The new price is US$5. DLCs are now US $2. All other prices are set to Steam's standards. This is now permanent, but in order to do so, we have to skip the Spring Sale. It is likely we will be in a weeklong sale sometime in the future and the cuts will be very deep.

Also, KitsuNet will be morphing into something a little bigger than it is, but a cross-promotion will come later. Just keep enjoying the game, which, I will admit, that not many of you have.

Due to the lack of negative feedback… or feedback at all, I have followed through on my promise to publish V1.2 after a week in beta. This includes the official macOS release, which I still have zero input about, but assume works, if it doesn't, let me know. I'm relying on some Steamworks magic, after all.

Please note that this update is COMPLETELY incompatible with previous saves, and they will either be deleted, or broken. They may appear to work, but a lot of data gets baked into them by RPG Maker. Players also cannot go back to a previous version due to some deployment issues, mostly related to my own stupidity. I take full responsibility for any issues with save games, and I really can't promise compatibility between versions going forward. Likewise, I will definitely try not to break saves, but RPG Maker really has a mind of its own re: saves.

Changes:

• Changed up and revamped the secret ending on Dark Lady 31
  
• Fixed a lack of Insignia rewards past Bronze (still undocumented in game)
  
• Added magic defence to all armours.
  
• Massive rebalance to Judgement to only one-hit characters in single digit levels, and be a mere inconvenience to almost every other character.
