Careful Collector
I collected every item in the game bar temporary powerups. Why didn't I get the achievement?

Did you get to the true final area? There are two items there that you need to have for the achievement.

The map and what else?

Accel Blast, you get by finding the other "exit" (it's not exactly an exit, more like a detour) through that dungeon maze.

Some screenshots that'll help you find it, or at least I hope they will. You need to fall down a specific gap, then enter the dungeon on the right at the bottom of said gap. Following the path will lead you to the last item in the game: Accel Blast for the Metal Attacker.

If the achievement still doesn't trigger for you despite this, hope you have a copy of a save from before ??? Area!

Is there a way to leave?

That makes all 3 games I had to start over due to a point of no return :/

Nope, there's no way to return. Go figure, though, after happening for two games straight you'd think you'd have known better by now that something like this was gonna happen - albeit, the first game did require you to get all items to access true ending in the first place...

There IS a way to return. I own the digital copy on Nintendo switch. Without spoiling further info, if you wait around the final save point (before the last fight, with the large "vessel" in the background) a dimensional portal pops up. Go into that, and you'll land next to a save point where you can choose save point to teleport. POINT OF NO RETURN CRISIS AVERTED!

that will let you get the 2 items in the end area, in the PC version you can't teleport out of the end

Are you SURE???

Throughout the game, it makes sense that there are no save points inside super-dimensional space. But here in this final area, these dimensional save points are bluish color.

I'm telling you man, wait around that final save point, a DIMENSIONAL PORTAL opens up.

you can teleport within the end's various portals - but can't get out

That's not what the query above my last post was referring to. Reaching ??? Area/Earth Area is a point of no return, and by entering it you can no longer travel back through Planet Sophia as Jason.

The dimensional rift you're referring to is accessed by moving past the superdimensional space Retry Point located right before the final boss and then turning back to the left (where it appears immediately), and its only purpose is to allow you to access an extra Retry Point in real space, so that you can travel back to it quickly in case you need to pick up extra items further back.

Ah ok. You meant that point of no return.

Technically, I think it's not a point of no return. Isn't the requirement to get that "crack in the screen" in the dialogue is to get all the permanent items? Surely there's no reason to just start all over again.
TouyaShiro May 24, 2022 @ 4:34am
No, that's not the case. The True Ending requirements change in every instalment of BMZ, and unlike BMZ1, the requirements for BMZ2 and BMZ3 do not involve collecting SOPHIA and Jason's arsenal. For BMZ3, that requirement is specifically tied to how long you have spent in superdimensional space, which is how the hidden prompt appears.

As soon as you make the choice that leads to the true ending, there is no going back on that save file. So it's best to have a copy of the save right before the final boss of Area 6, in case you need to backtrack for things you missed over there.

I've got the 2 final area items and the achivement didn't pop.

Is there a list of all items in the main part of the game?
