How to turn off swing tempo in online play?
The swing tempo system seems really flawed, it is impossible to work out. No matter what I do I'm always "Very Fast". My career mode is fine because I can turn that setting off, but I want to play online with literally all the other assists turned off and the (like I do in Career mode so it plays more like the EA sports Tiger Woods games)

As Neitsuke said timing is link to FPS. I bet complainer like Leo, you Gordo play at low FPS from like 60-120. Ive a 240hz monitor and I playing it at 240fps + I let the VSync off to uncap the fps. Getting over 300fps ingame. Thats why i getting perfect over perfect all the time. Stop whining and get rid of your low end pc.

No need to fix my setup I run all graphics to the max even cranked up and video card settings in Nvidia control panel offline runs great except every once in a while so I'll get a weird extra 30 yards out of a drive.. but of course online it's the same inconsistent garbage so I don't play online maybe someday when somebody comes up with the golf game that actually works online.... would be nice if Microsoft created a new links game... That game just does just fine online but the three click has an advantage in that game also..

Graphics to the max LOL. How many fps you got? 60fps Its MAX fps not max graphics. Max graphics mean inconsistence in timing cuz your fps will fluctuacte. Get a steady 144fps + at least if you want consistancy. Drop down graphics if you cant get steady fps. FIX your sht this game is working great online.

54fps offline career mode swing timing still inconsistent so it stays off... everything turned off for online everything just fine except swing timing Face it swing timing is broke never worked probably never will... which is most likely why most people will try online then stop before they reach 10 online rounds

54fps is way too low. Have you look the Neitsuke guide at 94fps with a 60hz hdtv/monitor
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2889186247

You can have on the other hand a true 144fps+ with a 144hz+ gaming monitor

144fps is great but slow/fast will be 2-3cup outside perfect . 240fps+ youll get perfect slow/fast on your bad hit meaning youll be just outside the edge of perfect making the shot almost perfect.

If you change fps you need to recalibrate too.

A gaming monitor at 144/165/240hz is a most. A hd tv for gaming is a no no in my opinion.

That's why I don't play online this game is way too resource dominant works fine offline but online it does not work.... strange I thought games would get better as years go by fact is they have gotten worse and developers have lost the ability to be conservative with the code... On to of that I have no doubt at least 50% of this game is on laptops like mine.... Most on this game are busyness people with laptops not gamer's with super PC's... And it all still not explain the fact that swing timing never worked in the first place... When turning everything off I get over 90fps and swing ting still broken.. They should remove it from they game that way anyone can play online...

Tempo has been broken since 2k21. Back in The Golf Club 2019 and before the tempo was working on a smooth gradient no matter what and had none of the FPS/gap issues.
On top of all that, 2k23 made it a lot worse by making the Perfect white zone a lot smaller compared to 2k21. Back in that game with irons and wedges, you could still hit Perfect even with a slighty off tempo (This also means that a hit off tempo would also be far less worse since it was closer to the white zone). This is because the white zone was wider, and the dial gap a lot smaller.
Clubs also had a natural rising forgiveness stat from driver > woods/hybrids > irons > wedges, which was also removed on 2k23 where all clubs have equal base stats no matter what

Game feels pretty good without the timing feature. It feels like you are an actual golfer and not a gambler IMHO so they should just disable this feature because I reckon even if any of the developers play it with the swing they'd get frustrated as well.

Not meant to sound trollish but this topic drew my attention and I wanted to share my opinion in it because I play without the swing timing and the game's really nice this way and no, it's not too easy because you are playing as a golfer so you are supposed to at least play decently and again without the timing skill is still involved, and yes it's easier but I don't see why it shoulnd't be? It still depends on you actually playing well and the difference between the swing timing on, hitting the ball 8 times to the green versus no swing timnig and then the same distance taking about between 2-4 hits is what I think we are frustrated about.

Anyway. You do you, and enjoy the game by playing probably with a controller where the timing isn't... or doesn't matter so much but yeah.. I'd say devs, also please consider us mouse players.

Swing timing is completely broken never worked before probably never will ever for the keyboard and mouse.. I've always hated game controllers but I'm pretty sure game controllers like the Xbox and Nintendo and stuff the way they work you don't even have to worry about the swing timing cuz the springs inside them do all the work for you but with a mouse it is 100% human control
Swing timing forces you to hit bad shots, it's a better game turning it off. Obviously it makes things easier but I'd rather a game be easier than just randomly forcing you to hit bad shots.

I agree.

Unironcally wind should play a bigger part in the game instead of the swing tempo.
