This or EA PGA tour? Its on sale for $12

I grew up on Tiger Woods PGA Tour... This games aight but I dont need all the customization its contradictory and overkill.

But I dont want a vanilla Masters 2022 game...

Should I get it or keep playing this is I want the 98-05 Tiger Woods gameplay? Its not the same but decently close in 2024 and to have this choice in 2024 Im not complaining

Both of these games are very good imho.

EA PGA Tour requires a gamepad to play.
There's no option for mouse swing but there is 3 click, once again requiring a gamepad (or keyboard) and stick swing.

If you're ok with that then EA is a more polished game than this, imho.

My biggest problem with this game are the regular disconnects that you get, from multiplayer.
Players quitting on the last hole rather than lose and the game just leaves you hanging.

These issues have been reported a long time ago but have never been sorted......having said all of that, if you have a friend to play with then both games are great fun and both have an excellent 3 click swing mechanic.
Mouse swing is decent on here but players sometimes complain of lag, which messes around with your swing timing but it very rarely happens to me.

I would give this game 7.5/10 and EA 9/10 :)

Idk if you played em back then, I was in elementary barely but 2004 was my favorite in terms of a Golf game, Tournaments with a IRL calender back in 04, Championships mixing Fictional and Real pro golfers, didnt really care for the mini games besides target range.


The customization in this game is too much, in the old games the later unlocked shirts were just upgrades to attributes but this 2k game is annoying... This ball give max distance but no lift, and vice versa...

I just want a golf game where a lvl 1 can beat a vet in skill. IK the old Tiger games had attributes but 2k is too much like Call of Duty with the customizations,


Would Ea be what I want or is there 0 customization?

Tbh even back then Id watch my dad play or vice versa, I dont like waiting on other players, and not to sound like a hot shot but most people are not very good...

Yea ive been playing for 20yrs but never golfed irl. Cant say what feels real but 2k feels like a Dave and Busters game.... and in this game I smoke people and Im spamming 3 click and barely managing a +3 over..

Im not good at all the swing mechanics suck, but the people Im matching with must be small children, why even get on multiplayer if you strike a +14 over

So with my response rant on what Im looking for, would you still recommend EA PGA?

What I will whine about and REALLY pisses me off is calling them shots.... SHOTS THIS SHOTS THAT ONE SHOT TO GO.... Its strokes and the commentators used the whole script on my front 9.. they talk that much

Anyway its still a good game to play with a cocktail but is EA a little more realistic and competitive in your opinion?

Ik this sounds corny but the game has missed so many strokes Id have made, The ball physics are not good imo.

One minute its a peice of anti matter in a sand trap 10ft from the green and the next its a paper airplane in 12mph headwind and 20ft elevation.

I really am just getting mad forcing myself to play but its PC not the good old console days I cant jsut return it after a day and 2hrs doesnt cut it. Thank you for commenting BTW

Everyone I know in this Game bought EA when it came out 4 about $100.

Over a Dozen Uninstalled it after 2 weeks.

I never bought it.

I have both,
EA PGA Tour:
> Better Graphic and more beautiful courses (but limited and no update since april)
> More Realistic, the sound and physic when you hit the ball and when the ball land.
> Best to play with gamepads, better swing mechanic than 2k23.
> Customise the play style by assigning skill point to the player to unlock special/specific strike type, and apply club spec on the clubs
> EA launcher suck, sometimes the game wont run, and need to try again for several times, the in game menu sometimes unresponsive (same issue with some other recent EA games)

PGA 2k23:
> more course content, some community created courses are great, but also many courses that is created without the intention of making a good course, or generally a bad course.
> can create your own courses
> Better to play with 3 clicks, and not very good using gamepads and swing mechanic.
> more items to collect/buy (club head, shaft, hat, shirt, etc.)
> Customise the play style by assigning archetype, assign skill, and put fittings on the clubs

both game online play isn't very good in terms of connection.

but for now, personally maybe I'll wait for 2k25, I hope 2k still follow their release cycle for PGA, if they still follow it, maybe in late August or early September they'll announce PGA Tour 2k25 in upcoming release, and maybe released in October or November.

Ive played Borderlands a ton and the dev 2k I do like, I could be confused and that is not who makes the sports games...if so Im an idiot

But my fav golf game all around is still PGA Tour 2004 Tiger Woods, the archetypes I thought was a cool customization but back in 04 there were 70 swing types from real world players signatures to silly ones for legit sillyness back when breaking the 4th wall and being goofy was a type of humor. Point is a game from 04 was almost as vast if I remember right and an even better upgrade and perk system, and each customization area was FAAAARRR deeper, I remeber 60 shortsleeves, 72 t shirts etc etc.

So comparing 2k23 customization for me its a gimmick for me personally cuz I never pay attention to archetypes, everyones body is different but 2k is too casual for me.. I do not mean to sound snobby I dont golf irl and irl golfers make me look like a hillbilly..... most the swings are flat wrong technique and theres no hint that its satrical, the SHOTS verbiage irks me so much and a lot of the game reminds me of new style cod customization, its just ignorant hollywoody stuff.

The commentators ruin it too by calling a ball in the rough when its mid air and the counter hasnt passed 100yrds, I usually drive 320-349 in this game and its a spoiler and total BS plus they just talk nonsense, in 04 they talked golf, david ferdy was sassy and snarky and they shared irl golf stories. this game I want them muted


04 kept it simple....generic or wallyworld brands were low level items and the AAA or gucci brands were high tier.

Point is I hate that a irl $100 Driver smokes a irl $400 Titliest bc of how the random loot specs are.


I want more realilstic physics that is the most important in a golf game otherwise if I wanted to just randomly send it Id go outside to the driving range and yolo it. and better graphics is a plus.... Id take those over changer the color grip on the clubs for ex... ty for taking time to compare it like that love those draft types
