Microphone Use

Any funny experiences with microphone users?

There are a variety of interesting ways to use a microphone with this game.

1) Some love to carry on extended conversations when others are trying to shoot. I wonder if they do that in a real golf course. Just rattle on while somebody in their foursome is trying to putt?

2) Some like to belittle their own teammate if he or she misses a putt. Yelling, swearing, making fart sounds. Clever, eh? Try to rattle your own teammate in a 2 v 2 game? That's sure to help! (Duh).

3) Some like to start making funny noises when an opponent is about to make a shot. Classy!

4) Some forget they are on a microphone, and end up in loud arguments with spouses or roommates. Awkward!

If you recognize yourself in any of these summaries, please tell me in advance when you start the game, so I can just turn off the sound. I'd rather not be reminded that not all adults are adult. The last three years have been depressing enough without such reminders.

Mine is turned off and always has been. This, though, makes me want to turn it on just to check it out. lol

I was happy to see communication options in this vs 2k21 where I came from, but these very reasons are why I turned off the mic and communications, and will never look back.

The dozen guys I hang out with playing games would drive you crazy then. LOL - you should hear us all in Discord when playing together & all earthly subjects are talked about & Trash talking each other. We all been friends since EA Sports Tiger Woods 08. So I would strongly recommend if talk while playing is bothersome - just hit ESC - Audio & turn off the voice chat.
Remember you are also playing Ranked with XBOX & PS5 players ( a lot are young kids & immature ( not all tho ). Being on the internet is like Jim Carey in the movie The Mask ( you can't remove the mask from him so he can kill someone and you can't prove who he is. People have been hiding behind the internet mask since it started. Just how it is & you must adjust to it & not take it Personally.

I don't take it personally. But there are a lot of things that I don't take personally but am happy not to encounter. Like people throwing up on an airliner, or eating bugs.

If you are all friends, I don't see any reason to object to your cross-talk. But the things I described above can happen between strangers. Some stranger than others, admittedly.
