Launching problems

I'm getting very annoyed here. Lately, more often than not, I will attempt to launch the game, and when I do, the game will open, but then it will not proceed past the main menu, and the program will not respond. It's a colossal pain. Anybody else experiencing this?

I've noted your info couturemk57, but still a little confused. I ran this game every day for a month with no issues, why now? Also, I'm not a serious enough gamer to invest that kind of coin in a gaming laptop. Thanks for the info though.

You should mention stuff like that when discussing the issue. It helps narrow down the causes.

Can you reconfirm your specs? You didn't mention which processor you have unless it's the c2000? If you don't know what you have, check Help > System Information on your Steam client.

Computer is HP 17- cn 2008 ca. Processor 12th gen i5-1235U. Windows 11 64 bit. 16 Gb installed ram. All drivers up to date. And my apologies for not mentioning the other thing. I'm kind of new at this, and didn't think to include it. And thank you for the pointers.

Just to make sure, does that box on Steam say the same type of graphics? It's Processor Information > CPU Brand for the processor, and Video Card > DirectX Card for the graphics card.
