Adding 3 click was a good choice, bringing in extra players and it's a very good system.
The tour mode is good, although the difference in skill level is ridiculous.
Highest skill and the npc golfers shoot 15 or more under par, for a single round....
Multiplayer is good, but still suffers from the same problems as before, with random disconnects....
by far the best version yet and will just get better....and yes the npc golfers leveled up just like the rest of us from the start of the game.
The upgrade from 2019 to 2k21 were meaningful and relevant. The jump from 2k21 to 2k23 not so much.
It's suffering from Call of Duty Syndrome. All those games also suffer one massive issue : The poor value it offers for its price, but 2k23 makes it worse because on top of poor value and lack of innovation, the game is trying to sell you season passes while not really offering anything substantial compared to previous games. However for 50% off, the price is worth it.
tl;dr : If it's your first game you played, 2k23 is the best of the bunch, but if you played the previous games before, its glaring flaws and lack of meaningful value/innovation will only feel worse and worse over time
This game is well worth buying, particularly if you fancy a go with a 3 click swing.
This game has the best 3 click implementation that I've ever seen, it's intuitive and works well and difficulty settings make a real difference to it!
There is one major gripe though. With 2K taking over I thought they would fix the crashing in the design side. Every HB Studios golf game has the problem in crashing when designing a course. You can be totally in the zone and designing seems to be going well except you forget about saving, then suddenly the game would crash and you would lose all your unsaved work. They never fixed it in 2K21 and they haven't fixed it yet in 2K23. An option that asks you if you would like to save would be nice (auto saving would be no good because any mistakes you have not noticed would not be able to be rectified to how it was before the save) to remind you to save it.
On playing golf it has the improvement in being able to gain skills and update shafts and grips to make your clubs better.
