Is Wendigo Heart OP?
Ever since I found it in Chapter 1 the game turned into easy mode basically.

It pretty much kills health management allowing you to hoard healing items, and does the same to ammo if you pick the Spirit Bow.

It's a nice power trip but I feel the artifact trivializes many risk/reward mechanics of the game, and does so very early on - especially considering I didn't actually have to kill a wendigo to find one.

Pair it with Spirit Bow and watch as your cash influx goes through the roof. Vendigo Heart nullifies the HP loss per shot.

It's pretty good in chapter 1. Not so great in chapter 2, especially with all the healing supplies you should have stockpiled.

In chapter 2 its made obsolete by the Deathstalker's heart, which drops from a much more difficult enemy admittedly. The deathstalker's heart does more regen without the downsides, and even gives you more health and acid resistance.

In terms of gameplay? yeah. But unlike bandages you have to pay for hear regen with real currency. Your limited time that is left untill you die.
Do you REALLY want to stand aft regening those 90 hp points? Or just go to bed and kill few more enemies?

No, but I never feel like I have to. I feel like it compensates pretty evenly for the Spirit Bow though.

That said I still insist that it removes a lot of the tension from Chapter 1

but you get so many bandiges anyway and it wont help if enemies detect you. but yes it does work nice with spirit bow and ists fun i think when you find strategies that work well. and i always use lever rifles and have never had mony problems anyway. i guess an advanige of haert and spirit bow is that you can sell all the ammo you find. the bone knife also pairs well with spirit bow.

Exactly my point. There's more than enough resources as is, and now I feel I'm almost breaking the game by having these stockpiles of ammo and heals. That's not the impression I got initially when I had to count every arrow from a regular bow and use melee to conserve ammo.

I know that this rarely lasts long but I didn't think resource management would outright stop being a challenge within the first hours of gameplay

There is a relic in chapter 2 the provides regen, some health and stops regular bleeding at max stamina. It has a downside but its manageable.
