OP, there is no wokeness here. People got banned because they turned to rascism etc.
LOL. Congrats. This is got to be on the short list of the most insufferably conceited, arrogant, and just plain twattish posts I've ever seen on a forum. Any forum. There should be a trophy of some kind for this. And it should smell bad, and you shouldn't be able to get rid of it.
Equality is shown in the game between men and women.
i dont have so much of a clue about all this "culture war" thingy (because its a huge pile of nonsense), but from my understanding there are some aspects that perhaps could be considered "woke":
- in character creation there are bodytype 1 and 2 aswell as voice 1 and 2 instead of male and female. but the only thing that really matters is the voice, because the difference in both bodytypes is a bra, no more pixels, just a bandage across the chest. and this will be hidden under your armor. so you could pick up the "male" bodytype, pick the "female" voice, leave out the beard and you would have the impression of a female character (or a male character with a high pitched voice).
- there are four or five types of skin colours and i guess they are equally spread across the npcs. people where arguing about the game being inspired by celtic culture and therefore the darker skin colours do not fit the setting. i didnt really follow those discussions, but i read in newer topics, that those threads quickly went from reasonable arguments to racism and overinterpretation of npc roles. so no wonders about people being banned for that.
- male and female npcs are equally spread and while i dont have exact numbers, it seems to be 50/50. they are also more or less spread equally across the roles in the world. there are both male/female guards, bandits, woodcutters, miners and so on. only thing i noticed, there are more female gladiators than male ones in the ingame arena and the female ones are the tougher opponents. but that arena is only a sidequest.
in my honest opinion, i also dont like it, when some ideology is aggressively pushed in my face in some videogame, that should be about having fun.
but from my point of view this is not the case here. everyone can build their character to their liking (on top of that, they are so pixelated that it doesnt really matter what look you choose).
having equal amounts of male and female npcs is much more to my liking than having another gothic 3 with a huge world, hundreds of male npcs and max 5 women. that was just ridiculous.
and regarding skin colours and npc roles: its a fantasy world so everything goes, didnt bother me at all.
all in all, i would not consider those points "woke" but healthy common sense (ok, body type 1 and 2 instead of male/female is a bit weird, but i hope i explained it well enough).
if you want a nice gothiclike action rpg, with lots of things to discover and a good amount of replay value, you should give it a shot.
if the points above are too much for you, skip it.
cheers and have fun.
PS: there are cute little pigglets in the game. and you can pet cats and dogs and sheep.
In the game, the strongest arena fighter is a woman. (Biologicial. Physiological)
In the game, women can be warriors, women can be huntresses, women can own property, women can operate their own businesses. (Social)
If we are talking about traditional Catholicism, a woman's job is entirely to raise a man's children, be subservient to her husband, and really just do whatever a hierarchy of men tells them to do, with their husband being at the top of the totem pole.
Jobs traditionally involved healthcare, teaching, or daycare. That is if they were allowed a job at all, depending on the part of the world and the century.
