'body type A/B' of Lords of the fallen game is now 'male/female'. so,
are you planning to do the same? 😏
just curious 🤷‍♂️.

You can bury your gender politics next to your leader.

It's physique 1, 2 - everything is numbers in the character creator. If it was in scope, we'd add 3, 4 and 5: Gnomish, hulkish, skeletal.. Or make the base bodies more varied. Since everything is hand-drawn in pixelart though this is significantly more effort (thousands of frames of animation) than it seems at first. We are more interested in creating more fun and varied different physiques in the future instead (as in above examples). We do not appreciate people trying to add their personal political ideologies onto this.

Amen. im not a steam guy (this maybe my 1st thread even?) so i don't even know what i achieve with those points you referring to.

im not good at English, but i have a feeling that those two words probably doesn't rhyme 😅..

so i asked a search engine AI about this and it confirmed what i felt. like this:
" ‘Dumb’ and ‘Trump’ do not rhyme perfectly. However, they share a similar ending sound and could be considered near rhymes or false rhymes depending on the context. ‘Dumb’ rhymes with words like crumb, plumb, thumb, come, and hum. Meanwhile, ‘Trump’ rhymes with words like bump, chump, clump, dump, and grump. "

this is not reaaaaaaaaaly a troll post right?. i was genuinely curious. because, Lords of the fallen devs decided to do that based on community feedback (according to them), and i have seen some threads about this game's character creation as well (that people prefer male/female). so i was just curious whether these devs has changed their minds as well.

i really appreciate for your comment sir.

from what i saw, the difference between physique 1 and 2 is.... a bra... 🙃 placed on the chest. not a single pixel more/less outside the body area limit of physique 1. so it make sense with your reply. (basically you bypassed the headache of making of another character model). good for you 😁.

so if i understand this correctly, you guys made just one physique at 1st. a male i suppose. but you wanted to give more options to players, because players were asking for a female as well i suppose. so you had to add another one (a female). but, you guys realized it is significantly more effort to make a another/different body for the entire game (a bit thin. like a female). so you kept the 1st one and made an exact copy of it and added a bra into it and wanted to call it female but the whole body is the same model so you can't really call it female right?. so to get away from the headache of making significantly more effort pixel/frames/animations stuff for a thin female model while also wanting to give a female option, you guys called it 'physique 2' . got it..
probably felt like a smart move i guess? (at least at the time of making that decision).

but then people called it 'political' without realizing how you got to the point of adding 'physique 1 & 2' instead of 'male female'. right?

so that's the best explanation i can come up with supportive to the devs (to prove that they were not going political at all by adding physique instead of gender)

but ofc i dig a bit more and found some threads where it looked like some other devs were actually into politics (strongly) and also the company website had 'pronouns' for the devs 🤦‍♂️. and each of them was 'he/him'. so the devs are normal males probably minding their own business while also like "we have to play the politics game to be safe". so idk. and i don't wanna dig too much into their safe spaces to find what exactly they believe in.

but anyways, apart from this weird...physique....thing... the game seems like a well made game among other tons of half baked pixel art games. im looking forward to the future updates as well. and wish you guys all the best 😉. thanks.

Not that i don't believe you but c'mon, i have seen this "body type A/B" thing in other games too. That didn't exist up until a couple of years ago.
It's like the emperors new clothes, were everyone pretends everything is completely normal and totally not out of the ordinary. Take the whole pronouns thing. Personally i don't care about that. So far, no game forced me to use a certain one. But it is weird how the internet created this out of proportions fashion trend and we all have to pretend that 99% of the population is NOT happily regular male/female, he/she.

But contrary to how it may seem, i am NOT trying to start a debate here. Trust me, i have been to other forums recently and have witnessed the insanity that is the whole "anti-woke" (now "DEI", apparently) movement with users flooding video game forums, seemingly at random, screeching about DEI detection or some such nonesense.

They even tried that in the forums for Tokyo Xtreme Racer, a niche japanese street racing game that is about tuning cars and challenging other racers. Doesn't make any sense.

Does it honestly matter?

If you want A to be a guy, go for it. If you choose B and want it to be a woman, it's a woman. It's a friggin' pixel game dude. There ain't no jiggle physics or bulges. Hell, your character can be whatever you want it to be. Not like you have a portrait. The game has drinking, bar fighting, slaying monsters, and victory. It's a fun, difficult game with a good story.

It's like when they add "other" as a gender option in a game. How does that personally affect you? Are they forcing you to be "other"? No. My motto is, "you do you".

TLDR: Shut up and go stab things.

Not really, no. But when there's a moment in time when suddenly the majority of games ditch the classic male/female option for something neutral like A/B, one has the right to wonder and question it.

I was trying to make a general point, not talking about this game specifically.
But as i said, i don't want to start a debate here.

Oh, I wasn't specifically meaning you mate. I just mean the idea in general. People blow a gasket about stuff like this. It's one thing to be super pushy with politics and stuff, it's another to be like "Eh. Let's just leave it like this so anyone can feel comfortable playing."
Y'know?
