Dark matter, How to craft?

i have been kinda stuck on the quest that you need to do for the special merchant in the human village. Is there a repeatable way to make dark matter for that quest?

Just mess up a recipe. Any will do. Grilled lamprey + meat is one way.

Just put an ingredient in a recipe that has X Mark, like Masshiron said, Grilled Lamprey is Aquatic/Signature/Grilled, X-Meat/X-Vegetarian. So if you put an ingredient with any of these tags with X mark, you'll make a Dark Matter.
