Honestly that's a fair call. The game with all the DLC is already packed with a ton of content at a incredible price. One last big hurrah sounds like the way to go imho, then the devs can work on something new that we can enjoy.

any chances we could get a co-op mode where you can just cook with a friend that also owns the game? i feel like if character/map dlcs are gonna end with the next one, it could still provide some new ways to enjoy the game and share it with friends

Kinda disappointed to hear this. I won't make any calls on how dlc 5 will go when we haven't seen content from it yet but I'd love to see the Animal Realm get added. Like what was the dingy fence you can see cutting off a path in Former Hell for if it WASN'T because they planned for Animal Realm?

Yes, but probably they are the partners, I never saw the devs show the boss of the DLC before the release.
