Should I play Entropy Zero 1 first?

I played these two back to back and I wouldn't say its necessary to play the first one. Sequel is such a huge improvement over the original. Entropy Zero 1 has quite a few problems, like tedious puzzles and poorly designed boss fight. After playing the first one I considered skipping the sequel, but was positively surprised at how amazing it was.

if you skip the first game, you wont be missing much. the stories dont overlap at all.

the first one is a good mod, but you don't have to play it. I dropped it about half way through and I'm having a blast in the second one.

both mods are on Steam, by the way.

i dont think the first one had much of a story besides "you are the only metrocop in this rebel city... you should probably leave..." i remember some cool environmental storytelling, like a plague that was ravaging the city or something... but i cant remember anything that ties into the second game.

thanks yall, Im gonna try out entropy zero 1 first, but if i end up not liking it ill just move on to 2

Here's a tip - when you get to the final boss, cheat. It's a bit of a pain, involving repeated jumping and demanding perfect timing, and it's just... not great.
But the final cutscene sets up the second game - that's actually the only really important bit of the story.

I've beaten EZ2 without beating EZ1, and I can confidently say that playing the original wasn't necessary to understand the story.

it would be worth playing Entropy Zero first (ends up with a nice surprise puzzle),
however, those two episodes of Entropy are kind of related like Rambo to Rambo2, just an example,

Entropy 2 = the best mod for free

kinda?? i did play it but it's not much, only the ending is relevant
i dont even know the "story" in EZ 1, until i read one of post in the guide section
it just feels like "another campaign mod for HL", play and forget

btw i dont like EZ1, the map is DARK, stealth doesnt work, puzzle is uninteresting and confusing, achievement is while NOT broken, it just frustating since you had to replay the game and not closing the game to be able to get it (those kill achievement)
