PSA - Post Processing crushes performance - FIX
Turn to medium or low, anything above and it will tank your performance even on high end PC's. I go from 60 FPS to 100+ at 4k with my RTX 3080 by lowering just this one setting.

Thanks for the tip! I thought my GTX 970 was finally too outdated for running FullHD on "very high" but turns out it's this PSA setting.
What changes graphically? Is it perceptible?

I have not been able to tell the difference yet. Although I went into the ini files and disabled some effects to my liking.

your 970 is outdated, less than 4gb vram and the processing power of a console aren't really great.

As long as I'm getting 60 FPS with Ultra or Very High settings on FullHD I'm 100% happy. I don't care about 4K or 120hz since my monitor can't handle them anyway. When Unreal Engine 5 becomes the norm I'll probably upgrade.

The most you can get with that GPU in modern games is an unstable 60FPS/low and probably even less in some including this one considering it has terrible optimization even if the graphics resemble a 2010 game.

I'm getting solid 60FPS on very high with 1920 x 1080. Just had to lower the PSA setting.
Yes this piece of ♥♥♥♥ is dropping even at 50fps on my rx6700xt at 1440p

To add to this, turn off the chromatic aberration. It's not a setting, but if you search "High on Life Blurry", there's some stuff you copy and paste into the engine.ini file. I went from 30fps to 40fps with a mix of low and medium settings on the Steam Deck and the game looks much better.

Turning down post processing to medium is a good idea to get a good fps boost, I wouldn't go low cause that turns off ambient occlusion I think.

You could probably grab a lower end gpu and get a big upgrade for cheap or something used of the market for even cheaper that is also faster.
