I have three controllers and none of them work. Strange. Worked fine with games like Ori. What am I missing?

Desperate to play, but basically can't

This game looks gorgeous, and I really want to play it. Problem: it refuses to work with my controller. It's an Xbox 360 controller for PC, and it works with plenty of other games, but this game just doesn't actually read any inputs from it. I had this same problem during the Steam Festival (during which I struggled through with the frankly atrocious keyboard controls), and I posted about it then as well, with no result. I'm not even on the same computer now (built a new one), but the problem persists. Can...
