How to run game on Windows 7 (instruction)

So here's the deal. EXE uses some function that was created only after Win8, so game will not start.

Unless we force it to.

WARNING: THIS WORKAROUND CAN POTENTIALLY BREAK YOUR GAME AND\OR PC. NOT FULLY TESTED YET. TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

0) Copy and paste NINJA GAIDEN SIGMA2.exe somewhere as a backup file!
1) Download and install CFF explorer: https://ntcore.com/?page_id=388
2) Right mouse click on NINJA GAIDEN SIGMA 2.exe in game folder, pick "Open in CFF explorer"
3) In the left bar pick "Import Directory" and click Kernel32.DLL there:

4) In the list at the bottom on the screen find line which says CreateFile2:

5) Double-click this line and instead of CreateFile2 write CreateFileW:

6) Close CFF, save changes. Try to launch the game. Write angry comment here (russian allowed) if game still not working.

UPDATE: in order to get the game working, you have to modify non-steam NINJA GAIDEN SIGMA2.exe and replace steam-provided NINJA GAIDEN SIGMA2.exe with modified one.

UPDATE 1.0.0.1: you can still use old exe file after update (you WILL get gameplay bugfixes like "Y counter does not link into izuna drop", but you wont get QoL fixes like Alt+Enter to switch the window mode etc)

On the other hand, you can also modify and use non-steam exe version1.0.0.1 to get all bugfixes

UPDATE 1.0.0.2: it just runs on Win7. You dont have to omdify the file.

You dont have to. Game just runs without any modification as of 1.0.0.2 version.

Im very happy that at least someone in TeamNinja cares.
