I can't beat the Ryu clone in chapter 12 on the first playthrough on Hard difficulty

Any strategies or will I have to start over on normal difficulty? At the moment I have come up with a method to use explosive arrows after every dodge and use staff in melee, but I still lose.

Hmm... Dragon Sword, dodge, block and keep moving. Try to not jump too much, avoid flying swallow. Use counter attack.

The simplest way to beat the clones is with the X->Y or Square->Triangle combo of the Dabilahro. It knocks him to the ground, while he's on the ground do the combo again in a way where the second hit of the combo hits him as he's standing up. He sometimes lets you knock him down multiple times, some times he blocks it, but you just keep doing it until he's dead.
