Why are some scenes automatically being skipped in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1?

I'm playing the first one and when I finished Chapter 4 and get to the part where everybody starts running out of the bar due to a fiend, the cutscene that happens afterwards immediately gets skipped... and the game suddenly cuts to the scene where Rachel starts talking to Ryu on the balcony.

I tried reloading my save and it happened again, so I know I didn't accidentally skip or anything....anyone know how to fix this?

I have the same problem. I have no idea how to fix it. When you start the game, the initial video is always shown, but all the others are not.

Sigma skips a lot of scenes, most notable was with doku at the beginning, OG game you don't fight him and see Ryu get slashed in the back and and another scene with the sword healing him. Sigma you fight doku in the beginning. Chapter 4, instead of the bodyguard asking for the ticket and going back to the vendor to get it in the OG game, your greeted with the bikers with a similar line. Think that is why they cut the people running out of the bar. Plus it's sigma, a lot of scenes and parts were edited out and replaced.

Problem is the missing scenes actually are in the game, they're rendered files that are already in my installation folder of the game. The scene that got skipped is the one where Rachel kills a fiend in the bar while Ryu watches.

The movie files are just not playing at the times when they should....

everything fine for me, I guess something block videos being played from the game

I think i have figured out the issue.
The issue has to be the "load_img" file in the databin folder.
This .bin file is needed to play those cutscenes. I think you need some tool or software to run this

That one definitely played for me when I played through the game on release. I can’t imagine the recent update would have broken anything but maybe, otherwise it sounds like it’s something with peoples setups.

Same problem with me but with different scenes. mine started until i reached Alma, as soon as i landed on the stage where the fight takes place, the game fades to black like if the cinematic is going to start but after a second the fight begins. it happened also with the next scene after defeating Alma, and i suppose its going to continue with the next ones, that´s why i stopped. Asked for refund but no luck.

I had this same issue on steam deck. Not even the intro 'team ninja' cutscene would load during the game's startup. I had been playing on proton experimental. Disable this and force the game to run on proton 8.0, all videos will play.
