Her face was supposed to be blown clean off!
This is a known bug, but SMG doesn't seem interested in fixing it.

I had the same thing. The first several times i played, it was blown off, the last two it was her neck. Maybe they decided it was too gruesome and changed it.

Same, no blow off I played today. Unlikely a bug as the end credit show the same.

Is it changed or different censored versions?

Checked the steamdb and all regional versions should be same.

Any one play it now can get blow off? Any what region?

I honestly think it's been censored intentionally, because if you play enough there are other deaths that are also now missing... and they're all what were previously the goriest deaths. If you fail to shoot Chris as Ryan then Chris (In his werewolf form) used to slam the shotgun straight through his head leaving a massive hole and a gurgling Ryan - now it shows the shotgun hit him and the scene ends.

There are also a few where people were basically eaten alive after being smashed into the floor and those appear to be changed too.

I'm not sure about it being censored but I am curious, in my playthrough it was just a wound on her neck but I also got one of the other characters head ripped clean off and thrown across the room (before I used a save) so I'm leaning towards it being a glitch. Shame though if it was censored (I live in Canada though and censorship isn't a big thing here so I dont think so).

edit: Kind of a stupid glitch though, I just watched the clip on youtube and I would have laughed my head off like I did when I got one of the characted heads ripped off lmao

No Constance's head blow off but also has other character head ripped clean off and thrown across the room.

There are many deaths different from how they were when I played it on PS. Try loading up chapter 9 and not shooting Chris - that death is totally different. Load chapter 9 again and instead of shooting Chris shoot Laura - a similar death occurs that is also altered. The reason Constance's death gets mentioned so often is because it comes up in every playthrough. I'm sure I noticed others in other chapters too...

There are two things that make me suspicious:

1. In Reddit threads on the most gruesome deaths - the two I listed get mentioned over and over again.

2. Despite this being brought up to Supermassive Games many times over the course of the last 6-9 months, they have been almost completely silent on the issue.

Maybe it is a very specific and peculiar glitch that for some reason ONLY affects the death sequences - because none of the normal sequences are ever 'glitched' - but either way, it is currently neutered for one reason or another.

I would also be interested to hear if anyone who owns the game on Steam and has played the game in the last few months has seen any of these deaths in their uncensored form.

I bought the game for myself in the UK. I also gifted it to my US friend and both of us have Constance's death censored/glitched and also the other deaths that I mentioned above. I've played through that section 9 times for all the achievements and every single time it was the same.

My game is asia region from humble bundle.... seems the censored is not regional thing.

Strange that DEV changed it after long time from launch and the original is so much better. The censored one even not smooth in presentation and odd for a shortgun shoot the head so closely and didnt blow off.

Kind of a joke if they did change it from the original, especially considering that it is rated Mature and Mortal Kombat fatalities existing lol and the youtube clip is realistic, what would you expect a shotgun blast to the face to do? I've aimed to keep everybody alive so I'm not sure what the other deaths are like for comparison (other than the 3 saved I used) but I feel like getting someone head ripped off and thrown across the room is worse than what I saw in the youtube clip.

It has to be a glitch though, because like I said, Canada doesn't have any censorship against video game violence that I've ever been aware of.

There is no gore in the scene in my version of the game either.

I tested it yesterday and spent the whole day today trying to downgrade to a previous version, but the Denuvo present in previous versions prevents the game from opening.

I hope the developer looks at this topic carefully, it must be one of the most memorable scenes in the game and at the moment it is compromised.
