How is this coop?

Hey, just wanted to ask how this game handles coop?
The tag says it is local/splitscreeen coop.
But i'm confused. This game looks like/is a typical QTE focused narrative game. Every gameplay i saw with "coop", there was always 1 person controlling 1 character at a time. Like in any normal story driven or even RPG game.

SO is coop here like "handing over the controlls" to the other person when a different character comes up? Or is there really a split screen option where you play together and solve situations together?

The Quarry Multiplayer Couch Co-Op Mode

With the Couch Co-Op mode, you and your friend/s can connect another controller and be able to control and make decisions for particular characters. A maximum of eight players can play at once, making it possible for every playable character to be played by a different player.

The Quarry Online Multiplayer Mode

The Online Multiplayer mode allows other people to play the game with you through an internet connection. However, the gameplay dynamics will be different a single player will be playing the game while the rest of the other players will be voting on which decision to go for.

Ah okay thanks for the info. Basically how i predicted. There is no parallel play. There is always one in game character active in game and people can just simply hand over the controller (i don't even get the point of programming such a "add player" feature. I mean....it's only possible locally. Where you sit next to each other anyway. Just hand over that controller. Or did i miss some logic behind it? Or did we become so lazy that we can do a simple arm movement? I'm really confused.

But in this case if this is really the coop of this game, i think the tag on the store page is very very missleading.

I've long since given up paying attention to Steam tags, they're far too undefined through misuse.

Yeah true that. They are handeled pretty crappy. But i'm not speaking about the tags also users can put on the product and is right under the game description. I mean the tag a little bot lower where usually informations are like "Singleplayer" or "fully/partially controller supported" or "remote play together" ect.

and i mean through the whole game, with the same people.

in my book thats not even a real coop mode...
its cool to have that game mode though, dont misunderstand me here, but id prefer some additional coop options.

RDCGaming is doing 6 I think. That's the most I've seen.
