And Kaylee gets shot and killed only moments later.
I’m not sure either, the game doesn’t really do a good job of establishing who needs to die in order for who needs to be “cured”.
For example, it says that the Hacketts are hunting the OG monster because then it’ll cure Chris, who was supposedly bitten by it, and you’ve also got Laura wanting to kill Chris because he bit Max…which seems to establish the idea that in order to cure someone you need to the kill the one who bit you.
But then later on you’ve got Laura offering to bite Ryan to save his life and suggesting that if they kill Chris they’ll both be cured…yet it’s not even clear which one bit Laura on the island as (in my playthrough) you’ve got Max, Nick, and Chris all running around as monsters
Maybe you just need to pop one of the ones in the line above you to be cured?
I don’t know…I haven’t completed the game yet but they haven’t really made it clear how it works.
If you get both Dylan and Kaitlyn infected they will not be killed and you do not need to kill Caleb
Then when Silas dies they are cured
In the scrapyard. When you go to drop the car on the wolf, just skip the QTE, or hit the wrong direction. Kaitlyn will get bit but not killed.
Strange thing in my playthrough which I just finished tonight is that besides identifying Caleb as one of Chris’ kids at the start of the game, he was never mentioned.
Then at the end for me it’s telling me that Caleb was the one Kait killed in the lodge.
I was like “who tf is Caleb?”
Did I just miss or get locked out of some part of the game that features an explanation about Caleb and Caleb being the one who bit Chris?
Dude, to be honest, and I genuinely mean no offense by saying this, but I think a part of you has got to understand that a big reason for why a lot of this is hard to figure out is because of how much you dislike the game. What I mean is, it's taken you a decent amount of time to finish a single playthrough. I only know this because of how much time you've spent here on the forums explaining (note, I did not say complaining) how much you dislike the game instead of actually playing it. I don't think you were paying that much attention (assuming that Kaylee was the one that bit Dylan despite the fact you knew she was killed five minutes later and this meant Dylan would've been cured no matter what, not knowing who Caleb was or noticing any time he was mentioned despite him being referenced in Chapters 1 [Chris x Ryan in office via conversation and with photo], 2 [Ryan x Dylan in office with photo] Chapter 6 [Ryan x Dylan x Kaitlyn x Abbie x Nick during conversation] [Abbie with photo on wall], Chapter 7 [Chris x Travis in jail during conversation] and then plenty of moments during the last few chapters, especially if you hunt down Silas .)
I don't exactly blame you! You don't like the game. I played Gears of War, multiple times, and I can't recall the names of a number of main characters or even remember large chunks of the game because I just didn't enjoy the story. But I paid for it, so I played it. My point is, you're experience with the game is not going to be like others because, naturally, people who really got into it are going to pay more attention to what's going on.
Having said all of that, I also have to admit that I was certain Caleb was the one who bit Dylan in the radio shack despite it turning out to have been Silas, so I'm not saying that particular moment is easy to figure out, but that's part of the tangled web that needs to be unraveled if you're aiming to save as many characters as possible.
Kill Silas and Dylan is cured.
