The Quarry
Is this game as "cringe" as Until Dawn?
So I've watched playthroughs of Until dawn and while I understand the setting is supposed to catch the 80's splasher settings in terms of behaviour of the characters, I just didn't really like it and found most of the characters to be annoying. However I liked the scenes with the Dr. and that its like telltale games but in horror

Is this game the same or are the characters more serious here?

Personally I found The Quarry's characters to be much more tolerable than Until Dawn's. There's still some dialogue bits and line deliveries that will likely make you roll your eyes, but that's just sort of par for the course for these Supermassive horror games.

Also, I feel The Quarry gives you more "branching" dialogue choices so you have tighter control over how each character's personality ultimately shapes out (you can have individual characters act more aggressive/passive or comedic/confrontational, for example). However, much like Until Dawn there are definite "archetypes" for some of the characters that you can't really change (Jacob is a bit of a goofy jock, Emma is an "it girl" influencer, Ryan's the brooding loner, etc.).
The playable characters are a bunch of younger people who have no real sense of real life and responsibility yet. It wouldn't legitimate if it didn't have at least a little bit of cringe-worthiness.
