Save Jacob from being captured?

Is there a way to avoid having Jacob caught in a bear trap? He has the rotary arm, I don't want to keep losing him.

Jacob always has to get caught in the bear trap, but it is possible for him to survive

If you took the rotary arm it is lost in the lake regardless of if you recovered it or not. When he sees the weighed down body he panics and drops it. He always gets captured. For the other comment. He always gets his foot caught in the bear trap, but if you pry not pull he will get out but be knocked out by Jed the old man. If you do pull and he falls face first a button press prompt appears at which if your successful he will avoid the comic death of getting his head stuck in a bear trap but will still be taken by Jed. If he was bitten by werewolf because he didn't get the blood put on his face and got jumped by the wolf or failed the hold breath while hiding he won't die from his head being stuck in the trap.

Wondering what happens if he becomes a wolf like Nick, and he isn't freed from his cage? I'm going to have to try it!

All of the counselors can be infected. There is a achievement for getting them all bitten. Doesn't have to be that they end up remaining infected in the end. Abi is the only one that will never show the signs of the infection as she is cured due to scripted events.
