Death rewind needs some working

So I'm on a second playthrough because I got ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over on some deaths. If you haven't beaten the game yet and don't want spoilers you might want to stop reading at this point.

So I'm at the part where Kaitlyn and Dylan are hiding in the kitchen and this time being my fault I messed up and let go of the breathing to early in which caused Kaitlyn to die. No biggie I just unlocked death rewind and I'll just redo it quickly (everyone else is still alive). I click use the 1 life out of 3 and ♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ takes me back to chapter 1 and from the looks of it I have to replay the whole game again .... Yea I liked the game but not enough to pretty much play it back to back 3 times. Why not have the rewind go back to the previous encounter that your succeeded in escaping from? Why the hell shoot your ass all the way back to where the first decision was made for that outcome? If I would have known that then I would have let her die and just redo that chapter. Instead now that save is stuck on chapter 1. I guess I'm a little salty but really? Couldn't make the rewind more simplified rather than ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on the player and making them redo the whole thing?

Spoiler: The reason why it takes you back to Chapter 1 is because they will die regardless unless you do some prerequisites first. You have to (again spoilers read at your own risk) ->

Break down the door in Chapter 1 as Emma, grab the teddy bear as Abigail. Then in Chapter 5 you have to hide from the hunter in the kitchen. It will drop the teddy bear and then you can use it as a decoy to save both yourself and Dylan in Chapter 10. Its the only way.

So do I need to do Chapters 1 through 5 and then take me back to Chapter 10? I did originally grab the bear but I didn't hide from the hunter in 5

Oh and yea sorry thats the way it works but damn thats one of the worst characters to lose out on during the blind playthrough or Save All playthrough. My condolences :(

Unfortunately in this game you have to play ALL THE WAY FROM THE CHAPTER. You can't skip which is one thing im complaining about when I leave my review. Its already pissed me off with the collectibles since if you miss one thing you have to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ go all the way back.

Ugh that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ blows. Already played it through twice and not in the mood to play it again a 3rd time all because I let go to early on a breathing part. That's a wicked ass punishment from literally almost beating the game. This is some Decision Path Making Demons Souls bs

What a terrible game, takes you from 90% done to 0% done because you missed picking up one teddy bear. Never playing it again

It's pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rough. I kinda understand why you can't skip around but also curious as to why not. A lot of choices aren't major and this is one of those things that aren't major except to this ONE scenario. They don't affect anything else.

Well the kicker is that I didn't even miss picking up the teddy bear. I just didn't hide in chapter 5. so why not take my ass to that point then?

It pissed me off so much when Kaitlyn and Dylan died. I finished the game then went back to try to save them, but the rewind would always take me to the beginning of the kitchen scene. I didn't grab the stuffed animal, and they weren't infected so there was nothing I could do. There were so many places it could've brought me back to.

You could just use the window instead of the beam, taking all the slow actions needed for Abby to get off her lazy ass and give you a silver shell.

Taking your time will give you the option to go for the bullet, rather than rushing to the kitchen with Dylan

Abi was dead and an infected Emma was in the basement. I knew from the very first time the freezer was shown that I would have to use it. I don't know why Kaitlyn couldn't have opened the door, grabbed a pan or something and throw it. That's what I was thinking when I chose freezer, not expecting Kaitlyn to just Dylan to die, even though they got along and made a great team.

It could've brought me back to when Emma was hiding from the hunters and I would've stay hidden instead of running. I could'be chosen to shoot Nick. But, nope, no second chances.
