I went through the old fixes but none worked. I tried adding lines in the gameusersettings.ini and also injecting a console command using the unreal unlocker...
The change in the .ini didn't work and the unreal universal unlocker (which I could use in the past for other games and seemed to work for other people with The Quarry) after the injection didn't let me bring up the console (also the normal commands like FOV plus minus didn't work...so I am not sure why the unlocker is not working at the moment with this game).
Ok I tried again.
You need to find the new version of unreal unlocker (for instance 4.6.7). With this version the console can be enabled after injecting the unlocker.
One the console is enabled in game, you can disable motion blur with
r.MotionBlurQuality 0
So this fix still works....though without motion blur looks actually even worse (at 60fps), at least for my taste, so I will probably keep playing locked at 60 and with blur ON.
Why do developers create decent games only to completely destroy them in the most brain dead way? Hell if you insist on putting this cancer in your game, at least let us disable it ffs.
I used to use UUE to disable it but someone came out with an easy to use mod to fix the issue
https://www.nexusmods.com/thequarry/mods/9
Without a mod, I would have ask for a refund... Got my lesson and will be more careful next time I buy a game from this studio. ...or any other studios.
Edit: I'm near the end of the game and it's really a great game. But again... without the mod that remove the motion blur, I would not be able to enjoy this game as much.
And one last point; I posted this comment in a distinct thread (not this one). And it was moved here. I don't know if it's an automatic thing or somebody did this. If somebody did this, then the studio should be aware of the motion blur and they should have solved this a long time ago.
