Steam Cloud saves please

Can we have a Steam Cloud feature please? I bought the game and started to play it on my relatively old PC and was a bit bummed to notice that the game doesn't support Cloud saves when so many other titles on Steam these days do so I had kind of come to expect for granted. So I would have to start the game from the beginning on my beefier gaming laptop. Which is fine I guess because I was barely an hour into the story.

Anyway, it would be nice to have the cloud save feature at some point even though it won't probably arrive in time to save (pun not intended) my progress this time.

Devices synchronization

I was playing on my steam deck sevrals hours, and wanna continue to play on my gaming computer but my save seems not synchronized. Do I have to do something special ?

That depends on how Steam Deck synchronises games. If it uses Steam Cloud, this game doesn't use that.

Sh***t. May be 2K Super Massive Games / 2K could improve this as this is useful to be able to play on several devices...

I'm not sure why they don't, the Dark Pictures games all use it and this has the same save structure as those games. Must be a 2K thing.

There's no cloud synchronisation in this game.

You could copy your saves over manually though.

Location is:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\TheQuarry\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

Not sure where you'd copy onto the steam deck I'm afraid as I don't have one but it must be possible.

I played The Quarry on a streaming service (Boosteroid) and lost my progress probably because there are no cloud saves. It's sad because I can only play it in cloud gaming.

No Cloud save is criminal in 2022

I can't remember the last game released that didn't have cloud save!!! Especially a game that's 100% narrative. So you're forced to choose where you play or have to play 2 different games. WTF 2K...why do you suck so bad???

It's 2K, they will probably release a DLC to add Cloud saves for $20 😂

Is there really no cloud saves for this game? I was more than halfway through my first play-through and had to reinstall Windows yesterday

Hey skiF - reviewing the store page for The Quarry, Steam Cloud support is not listed in the product description.

Unfortunately, if you did not make a manual save game back-up prior to reinstalling Windows, it is likely that you will need to start a fresh save game. We do not have an in-game cloud save system nor the ability to restore your save data I'm afraid.
