So how much is changing from when this game was Father?

I really love the new direction of the gameplay, but is the story changing as well? I may be well out of the loop but I can't imagine how the original story is going to fit into this. Little bit of a bummer since I was originally hooked on that story, but I do think the gameplay change is worth the trade off. Just curious...

Didn't like Brush's first two games, sorry, lol, but I'm down to try a third because I believe in him and his projects. I also like 90's style shooters. I also like Based stories, such as a Father trying to save his daughter from the cults of the... well, the cults. We'll leave it there. I'm in....
