Hotfix Update for August 16, 2024
Thank you for becoming part of the Sins of a Solar Empire II community! We've got a small update today to address some minor issues reported. Additional updates will be coming in the future as well, stay tuned!

New Content:
  • Added 15 new maps

Misc:
  • Fixed crash
  • Fixed save game crash caused by attempting to save games with reserved win32 names
  • Added fix for mouse movement through remote desktop
  • Fixed unable to complete "Galaxy Overview" tutorial with certain keyboards.
  • Updated game credits

Thanks! Were the Sova Carrier's missle battery ability fixed too? It wouldn't autocast.

"Fixed unable to complete "Galaxy Overview" tutorial with certain keyboards."

Kinda disappointing this was "fixed" by removing the tutorial step. Kinda liked the keybind scrubbing option.

Low priority i know but still :/

Couldn't do it quickly. Will look into a more robust solution in the future. In the meantime, anyone who wants a key binding can set one up that works on their keyboard.

Hello, two questions, when this happens are you able to submit a crash report via pop up? And secondly may I ask what OS you are using?

Window 11. Sometimes there's pop up with skip all, skip, break and I select break but that doesn't end the game. You can still play then crash sometime later. Other times it crashed randomly. Sometimes I can play for a bit before crash other times it crash as soon as I enter a multiplayer game.

It is possible that number of occupied and free slots will be displayed right in the list with colonized planets? Because now have to move the cursor on each planet (which can be many) to find how many more structures can be attached to them.

New bug, if i exit out of a game, Sins will keep running in background even though the game is closed. I have to stop Sins in the Steam game list.

I've noticed that Vasari Vulkoras Desolatror's ability to deploy Siege Platforms is also not working on auto cast

Experiencing crashes during the final stages of the loading screen after this patch that I did not experience before.

This is on steamdeck, desktop mode.
RAM usage hits its max of 14.5GB just before the crash occurs in the final stages of the loading screen (80-100% done). Sometimes I even load into the game for a few brief seconds before crashing.

Occasionally, the CPU will hit 100% on 6/8 cores during the crash and freezes the steamdeck itself. Normally it only crashes to desktop.

Before the patch, I had implimented the fix for multiplayer on linux with windows users, seen in my comment on this thread:

With this fix and the initial patch, I was able to join friends on windows without any latency issues.
Now I cant even load a singleplayer game without crashing.

I am unable to submit crash reports when this happens.

*Edit*
This crashing occurs on the following maps:
"Random 5+ player" maps
Any maps with 8 players or more.

*Edit 2*
RAM issues seem directly related with how many AI are loaded in a given map. Can load the 10 player random map with 1 AI, but loading with 2 crashes.

surely its a bug to listen to phase jump inhibitor trapping insurgent fleets x1000
