also, endless space is more story driven with very different factions and own storys that are presented ingame.
Sins is more like a framework for Real time Strategy like starcraft, age of empires and so one. yes, there is a Lore but in game der is no real story
they are Diffrent.
the fights in Endless space are also round based like. based on equipped things. here its more like building a fleed ship by ship.
You want a more traditional 4x experience with turns and everything? Endless Space 2.
- Turn based:RTS
- Empire management:Tactical simulator
- Ship designer:Preset ship with a few upgrades
- Asymmetric gameplay:Mostly symmetric gameplay
- Limited map size:Potentially limitless map size (must use an editor though, not the most user friendly in either case)
- Completed game:Released 3 days ago (out of effective early access anyway)
- Hands off (but spectacularly cinematic) combat:Full control tactical combat
Either game is good, just depending on what you want. Namely, this game is all about combat. Endless Space 2 is more about running an empire.
^^^^^ Correct answer. They're both good in their own way. Only thing I'd add is if you have a couple hundred dollhairs to spare, then pick up Stellaris and all their DLCs as a more in depth 4X or if you want a more RTS that's flipped on it's head then AI War 2. Either way, they're all different and good in their own aspects of everything from 4X -> RTS. One things for sure, for me, I'll be dumping at least a few thousand hours into Sins2 as I've probably nearly 10000 hours since I bought the OG back when it first came out about 20 years ago.
But if that sounds ok to you, the asymmetric design is top. All the factions fight on the same battlefield, but they work really different (the easy to play ones are a bit similar, but some are really out there).
Endless Space 2 has story missions and is designed for you to take your time thinking each turn. Combat is a feature but is not a focus in it. It has my favorite political system out of any 4X game with every choice impacting the politics of your empire. ES2 can slow down late game as you manage dozens of planets, which doesn't happen to the same extent in SoaSE.
