i think the price is ok, if you like the game you can get 500+ hours of playtime. games i enjoyed where sins 1 and bannerlord, and im ashamed to admit i have about 1200 hours combined on those games, :) i consider it good value for money

Am I fundamentally misunderstanding that there is a finished scenario and a number of finished units that are finished but have been stripped out and you only get them if you buy the premium version? Because thats how it reads on the store page.

Just wanted you to have an answer from someone with a dev tag.
We have not stripped the game of any content, for day 1 release.

All of the DLC content highlighted is yet to be made. What we did do, is design the game engine in a way, that we can potentially support things like a campaign, should we have the capacities to do so. And for those who are new here, Sins:Rebellion never had one. So bringing campaign to Sins 2 is not a default, but an actual extension.

And how much are you going to charge us for that? Another $100? I'm curious cause the game should have a campaign if your asking that much or even half that, which you are!

If the Steam score stays above 80% in the next few weeks, then I may buy a key for 30 or something.

Is it me or have key site prices been ♥♥♥♥ the past 6 months?

Hello i think expanding the game in a meaningful way and adding things that we can see are happening in the real universe if you can bring them down to a game that would expand the gameplay would be better than campaign atleast for me. I cant talk about other people but i dont miss the campaign so much maybe if it is made in a form of comix and some missions then ok but i dont take this game like Warcraft 3 or whatever that relies mainly on campaign on launch.
For me this game is single skirmish and multiplayer main so i would welcome some ranking system in multiplayer atleast to see if somebody is leaver, decent player whatever something like that.
Also , you have great new engine the game is hard at this point i played 1 hour vs 4 medium AIs and i dont know how my head is still on the shoulders the game is really hardcore so much upgrades planetary upgrades etc. Just one thing that would be super cool is to make some super late game tricks like the cannon that was in Rebellion or whatever creative that you can come up with. To make the game less predictable and exciting in lategame...

Sins:Rebellion with all its DLC costs about the same as Sins 2 right now, and guess what: There is no campaign in that one at all.

I don't really get why people think the campaign is such an essential for the game at that price when the older games never had them either, and cost the same with all DLC's.
Probably cost more if you actually bought them all way back when it released.

Rebellion, without discount, cost nearly 40 bucks, and that's without DLC and without a campaign even if you have DLC.

Oh and that |3$ line about not having a campaign. REBELLION WAS SHOWCASED THAT WAY! It was decided to not include a campaign cause it wasn't a full release more of an expansion and expansions don't have stories in rts all the time. That was then and it was fine then. This now. It's a new starting point after 12 years and that's what your going with? This is a new start which denotes it would include a campaign not be an expansion or cash grab platform to milk us for money later you greedy, lazy people! Talk about out of touch.

This is what I'm talking about when these devs are showing us that they don't respect us.

Neither Rebellion nor the original Sins of a Solar Empire had a campaign, though.
That's the thing, having a campaign now is a first for the franchise.

I agree it would be a first but it was the impression that many people that I talked to got that we would be getting because it epic first. I realize it's an error on my part but that was always the info that I got. That when it came to steam it would be a complete game, indicating it would have campaign and it never said it wouldn't that I can recall. Call that subtext or what you want but it isn't on the front page and it's shady to think they got away with it cause of details. This is why ppl hate lawyers and this stuff.

Is there any possibility for the correction of strange pricing of the game in Europe?
So we actually pay the 40$ you guys are charging currently, and not around 50$?

If I had to guess, and this is pure speculation it has to do with the VAT stuff.

In the US, the price is $40 but when the user checks out, the price changes to say $46.40 or or whatever because in the US, taxes are added on top.

In many European countries, there's a VAT and what Steam does is take the price and then subtract it. So if it was, $40 Euros, Steam would deduct $8 or whatever from it.

I don't know that for sure but that is what I am thinking.

That doesn't really make sense, VAT is different in different countries and it does not correlate with the price increase, at least not in the countries where the price actually shot up.

Unless i completely misunderstood your post.

I for one would like to commend the studio for keeping the price lower, being 33% less than the typical AAA release.
