How to beat a starbase?
I'm playing TEC, I have an Ankylon Titan, Kol battleships, all kinds of other capital ships and a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of smaller ships. And there are Advent starbases on their planets. One is enough to wipe out my whole fleet. Any tips?

WTF? There are dozend posts abput how useless starbases are right now and then this? Oo
Are there repair stations behind the star base? Do you have long range attack ships (gauss, missle, torpedo)?

Of course I have, plenty of everything. Those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wipe out my entire fleet and I am playing on easy for the first rounds.

And the starbases move, not much to do with long range when the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ comes to you.

I need a video to tell more. Either that starbase has a bug or something else is really wrong here. Oo

Yeah, that's weird, I mean, starbases have the highest durability, are you using weapons with 0 penetration?

I am using all kinds of weapons. As I said, I have a large fleet of everything, including a Titan. Still getting my ass kicked. With all this saved games getting lost all the time I guess it's just another bug. This game needs some work.

Are you getting Advent and Vasari confused? Vasari star bases are the ones that move.

As TEC Kols with laser ability will melt starbases fast. Just need a couple support cruisers for each to give them antimatter.

A mixed fleet is not good because a few missile cruisers will just get shot down by starbase PD. Need to have a strategy.

Ogrevs. They literally exist for the sole purpose of destroying orbital structures. Get like 20 of them and that starbase is toast no matter the upgrades.

Some ship class are are good for star base. At 2 star base shouldn't be a big problem and i even think this is too weak for the price and upgrade price.
Another thing i will say some how you should micro manage the movement when enter, i notice that the light weight ship class will arrival then wipe out first....
i wish there are some control or fleet formation i can use to prevent that...

The TEC has a cruiser specifically made to take down starbases. The missile cruisers, if your Titan and Caps tank the starbase fire, should easily shred it. You should check your fleet comp. If its a bunch of shuriken and cobalts it will get shredded.

Starbases are pretty easy to take down even when fully upgraded, you just have to focus fire. Sometimes just sending your stuff into the system will have them shooting at other buildings and just let the starbase chew them up.

Ways to take them down:
- Dedicated Anti-Structure non-capital ship. Each race actually has one, for the TEC its the torpedo ship you unlock from T4 military near the titan unlock.
- Focused heavy capital ships (Kol & Marzaa with Gauss & Rapid Loader Upgrades)
- Very large LRM blob. This isn't as useful since they fixed PD but with enough of them it can still take out an unsupported starbase.
- Lots & Lots & Lots of corvettes... Bring TEC Carrier capitals & just keep building them as fast as they get destroyed.
- If you have the Ankylon Titan MAKE SURE you actually installed the Beam & Heavy Missile Module items. The Beams that titan gets 8 of are pretty much the exact same heavy beams that get installed on starbases in the first place.
- Bomber Swarms... Either from Capital Carriers or lots of Cruiser Carriers. You can even open the fighter menu in the lower right, right click on the fighters to scrap them & replace them with all bombers. Get about 20-30 carriers worth of them and you can dissolve most starbases in a few bombing passes if it is lacking good fighter coverage.

I do think that the Vassari Starbase (the one that moves) is the harder one to take down. This is mostly because of the constantly on in-combat regen that can be turned on for it. Between Shield Burst regening half the shields + active armor regen it take alot of constant focused fire to bring one down quickly. Advent starbases have better shield regen but ones the shield drop they just dissolve from lack of armor.

Yeah, in SIns 2 a decent sized fleet with a titan, especially the TEC loyalist one, should be able to take out a starbase without taking too much damage.

But TEC still has the Torpedo Cruisers, they can take out a starbase outside of it's range.

Otherwise, use ships with high penetration weapons against starbases, capital ships and enemy titans.

I'm facing Oraskul of Adjun Imperials. No chance of winning.
