screen issues with 1080p! any ideas or fixes?
i just recently bought the odd box bundle because i liked the games and the worlds that so odd and intreging. however, i have an issue with one game in particular, which is strangers wrath every time I select the 1080p resolution setting the camera seems to off the centre of the screen and is zoomed in to the far left corner. This issue does have an affect on the gameplay however, i have found a solution to the camera problem which is to use the resolution of 1600x900 which works perfectly but it sucks that the 1080p mode is broken. but great game :). loved it as a kid and as an adult.

What you'd want to do, is to right click Strangers Wrath in your games library, click local files and then browse local files. This will bring up your game files which you can edit. What you'd then want to do is to go into the folder labeled Bin and find Stranger.EXE. Right click this and go into properties. Go into the compatibility tab and then select 'override high dpi scaling behaviour', selected programe by 'application'. If this doesn't work try disabling fullscreen optimizations in the same tab.

Just got the Oddbox and was having the same problem as TC. Tried like every permutation of settings in the loader before giving up and Googling it. This topic came up and YOU ARE MY HERO! Works in fullscreen mode and my mouse actually lines up (for a time I had it working in windowed mode but the mouse had to be on the option below what you wanted to select; be on "load" to reach "new game", for example).

I was going insane, man.

Almost two years later from the original posting (I'm sorry).

These steps work great for running the game in 1920x1080. But when I attempt to run it in my native resolution, 3840x2160, the very first screen (the still image with stranger, the antagonists and the JAW and OWI Logo) shows perfectly in my native resolution. But then everything cuts to black and nothing else shows.

The game is quite clearly running in the background, as the music is playing and the menu reacts to the movement of my mouse as well as any other form of input.

If there is no fix available, that's absolutely fine as it still looks great in 1920x1080. I'm just simply curious if its possible to run it at an even higher resolution.

Thanks!

Turn off SSAA, that's what's causing the black screen problem. Either use FXAA or no AA at all.
