No... don't use AI. They used AI to do the voicing in Watch Dogs: Legion and it was bloody terrible. I'm sure with the money rolling in - get a couple of cheap actors studying at their local College to do the voice overs.

This game doesn't have voice acting because Goldeneye 007 didn't have voice acting.

But even if the developer wanted voice acting, hiring a real voice actor is pretty cheap. According to this site[www.backstage.com], non-union actors in the USA start around $100-$250 per hour an hour and union actors start at $450 per hour. I assume it's similar in France.

For a game like this without many lines and no need for top talent, hiring real voice actors is a tiny part of the total budget. Plenty of indie games do that without needing to resort to AI voices. But again, Agent 64 lacks voice acting of any sort as an artistic choice.

Even Perfect Dark used non-professional, in-house employees for the voice acting. It's not that hard to just get a few friends to record a fun Y2K era nostalgia shooter for spoofs and giggles.

See how easy it is to hit a nerve with the anti AI people? A game like this you could easily get away with some friends doing VO for you, but the vast majority aren't going to notice or care about AI usage if you went that route. It's the loud minority as usual. It's a tool to be used. Just because you churn out slop with it, doesn't mean it can't be useful in the right hands.
