A shame, I was really looking forward to this game

So.. It seems the developer is just ignoring the negative feedback about the use of a kernel level anti-cheat. They seems to not care about the consumers, so I will not buy it, and make my best to discourage anyone from ever buying this game.

People concerned about kernel level anti cheat aren't concerned because of their ability to cheat. Come on, now. An enterprising cheater who wants to do so will find a way.

Multiplayer is one of the main reasons why Goldeneye and Perfect Dark have the longevity they still have. Locking a considerable part of your game is not really a compromise. Cheaters will still cheat if they want. I don't need anticheat to play co-op with my friends

Goldeneye and Perfect Dark are also still alive thanks to the speedrunning scene and because the game is great even in single player.

There's nothing to prevent people to play online.

As annoying as I find "announcing my departure" posts, I am also confused by the decision to enforce EAC. I would assume most people that play online are going to do so with friends rather than Randos. Hopefully they at least let players do private matches without eac

Yes. As long as you only pick the "Play Offline without EAC" option when launching the game, EAC is never installed.

EAC doesn’t have any real bearing on me getting the game or not, I will because I have no interest in MP. But I will implore you to look into removing it, it does nothing really dissuade most cheaters & causes so many issues for people that are not cheating

What about campaign co-op? How do we access that in offline mode? There's clearly no need for anti-cheat in that situation.

It's not locked, you're just being a jackass. BTW Goldeneye and perfect dark are split screen only, you can do that in this one too...
