Sucker for Love

Sucker for Love

Is there any dark/horror elements?
Or is it legit a full on parody?

I know the bird dating sim as a darker ending, even dream daddy had one

does this?

Oh, trust me: there most certainly are.
One of them even got me genuinely unnerved when it happened.

Any jumpscares or things of that sort?

Yeah, some of the promotional material says there isn't, but that's merely in jest. There's plenty of scares, including a bit of body horror and facial mutilation. Nothing *super* graphic though. As for jump scares? There's a couple, but it's not the primary source of scares. Mostly it's atmospheric/psychological horror

Dang it, I like horror plenty but don't deal well with jumpscares, at all. Are they loud, is something going to suddenly scream at me at full volume?

Nah, there's no loud bangs, screams or pops that I can recall.

Might give it a shot after all, then. Thanks, man.

You're welcome. If you decide hop on the bandwagon, I hope you have a good time! Horror aside, at it's core I think Sucker for Love is an oddly heartwarming and comedic tale about overcoming cultural barriers to form meaningful connections with people that are very different from you.

Most of the things that even come 'close' to jumpscares aren't really 'jumpscares' in the traditional sense. Maybe a bit of a static noise and taking a bit more of a serious facial expression when your eldritch cutie really, REALLY, is trying to emphasize that peeking in on her in the shower might not be the best idea.... and a few purely visual ones in act 3 which is the closest the game comes to more traditional horror. I'm awful with jumpscares and I got through just fine, so you should be ok.

EDIT: Just replayed it for a friend and there are two 'scares' I forgot about that are a bit more traditional, but still pretty mild compared to most 'jumpscares'.

There's one "Real" jumpscare about 3/4ths of the way through the first chapter after doing a specific ritual, but anything else is really minor.
