This is my community service for burning Europe to the ground in all the other WW2 games I played.

House Flipper WW2 edition.
Poland just Uno reverse carding WW2.

good:
-graphics are stunning
-very pretty environment and details
-great feeling of generally the game and after restoring
-lots of unique things to do
-satisfying and relaxing gameplay
-very fitting and well sounding music
-menus and UI are well done and fit nicely
-helpful tutorial and tips (mostly)
-grinding factor is better than in other similar games
-developers care about the community and read reviews
-bunny hopping!!!
-throwable hammer!!!!!!

bad:
-very long game start times
-weird hitboxes of some objects (like mice, metal plates)
-object collision with player/vehicle is very buggy
-sometimes after demolishing something, dropped items get thrown far away

improvements/fixes (my opinion):
-hold to pick up (because of small hitboxes and often lots of objects to pick up)
-faster cutting torch upgrade
-the "unstuck" option should reset your vehicle completely, after pressing it 5 times or so, because it often just makes my vehicle stuck just again after being stuck, so it doesn't help
-crouch function (because of sometimes being stuck somewhere I could easily escape by crouching)
-bigger "pickup hitboxes" for small or hard to pick up objects (like railings, small rocks, small wooden planks)
-broken down concrete walls are really buggy, you can destroy them by jumping on or pushing them (it's actually more effective than hammering it) and when hitting concrete while standing on it, you can get catapulted really far or even just by touching it, they are also often invisible but still have collision
-the wrecking ball shouldn't go up as much (more weight), it's harder to wreck smaller things (although you could just do it with the hammer)
-I know the devs will add it sometime, but the building of a construction site is lacking everything

sound effects:
some of them sound nice like when demolishing wood or stone, but some are hard on the ears like the crow caws or wind and some of them are completely missing, examples: when opening a train door, when demolishing some roof parts or in some menus like in the crafting bench (so there where you think there would be sound effects).

I really enjoyed the game, although it just released, it is very much playable, had some good times and fun, by updating and fixing (which the devs are doing), this game could be a very attractive and replayable simulator.
P.S.: I was not trying to hurt anyone with this review, I've just given my own opinion and tried to make the game with my ideas better.

I like this sort of game I feel like I am making up for all the damage and chaos I cause in other video games xD

This is a cool little game where you go around the UK, France and Germany and do clean up and repairs to damaged parts of cities and military areas you do only work in smallish areas tho not entire cities.

You have multiple tools to clean up like metal cutters, hammers shovels etc

Vehicles to use like cranes and cars.

You can press control to see areas that need work or are affected by something.

Everything can be upgraded by skill points which you collect by completing tasks throughout the game.

There are also collectables on every level.

Each level tells you a bit of history of the area like in Dunkirk where over three hundred thousand soldiers were evacuated home to the UK.

There is a sandbox level to play as well (in Poland) you collect the usable items there by completing other levels.

The graphics are simple and nice the music is relaxing.

There are some bugs I crashed once and I had to restart a level as a tanker I was cutting down got stuck, besides that I never really had any problems with the game and the game saves itself often anyway so I never lost much progress.

The achievements are easy to collect as you play along one or two might need a restart of a level but that’s fine.

A lot of people liken this game to others like House flipper and yes I agree but not as intense.

I would say that this game is short and could use more content I have heard that the game is going to get some DLC's in the future which would be nice depending on the price of them.

I would recommend this game as a nice relaxing pass time to play for people interested in this type of game.

But maybe get on sale as it is a bit expensive for the current release.

New level DLC release and its free very worth it adds more time to game.

Definitely (if you like those renovation-games, like House Flipper, Train Station Renovation, etc.). Extremly relaxing and just a fun game for passing some time. It has a quite melancholy/wistful mood, but that just fits the setting and the story told. I also like its own ideas, for example the connection to the historical templates (flashbacks) & the story told as loading screens, or mini games like the bomb defusing. Nothing to complex or special, but just some nice additional ideas, well implemented (only finished the first level yet, hope it stays like this. I'm exited to see whats coming).

Technical there is also nothing negative to say. Feels pretty polished and runs quite smooth. No bugs so far. BTW: there IS a FOV-Slider. Don't know if it was implemented shortly before i installed it (video-options -> bottom).

I've played the demo some months ago and was looking forward to the release. Since then, there are already a lot of "Quality of Life"-Improvements. Good job! Only thing i would put on a "feature-wishlist" yet, is that it would be much more fun if you could move those material-containers (if not free, maybe on some rails at least, would work perfect in the first level). Because of the limited Iventory, it feels a bit to much like unnecessary running around. But everything else works fine. Graphics are ok for a game like this. Sounds are good, music is good (i guess thats subjective, but i like it. As mentioned it just fits). The Narrator is excellent!

So long story shot, a great game for a low price. Everyone interessted in that kind of games can get it without hesitation.

PS: First Achievement i got was "birds lover not" - you KNEW we would try this :p

Being a history nut, it's nice to see a WWII game that deals less with the war itself and more with the aftermath. And it also confirms that, like with similar games that involve setting up decoration after construction/renovation/etc., I still suck as an interior decorator. :D

I decided to buy this game after a long time, I was really undecided. I must admit that it is interesting but it doesn't seem very long as there is a map to follow and areas that unlock as you progress. It is very fluid in its movements and all actions are easily intuitive. Many items available immediately. It's certainly difficult to compete with other games of this type but my rating is 8/10.

I recently 100% completed "WW2 Renovator", and my thoughts will be listed below.

Honestly, if there was a neutral option on Steam I would have put that here. That said, I felt there was slightly more positives than negatives so I gave it a thumbs up for now. There's a few reasons for this, which I'll go into in depth below.

I did quite enjoy my time with this game, I really did. I'm a sucker for renovation games like this and as a history nerd this was right up my alley. It was sitting on my wish list ever since I found out about it and I got it a couple weeks after release. With how long it was in development and available to see on Steam, I would be lying if I didn't say I expected a little more?

There were only 9 levels and 1 sandbox level, including the tutorial. Each level, with exception to the tutorial, lasts around an hour for anyone who is a veteran of these kinds of games. 6 of the 9 levels took place in the UK, which was a bit of a shame considering there are so many other locations they could have done. What about cleaning up after the D-Day attacks or maybe even Berlin? This game had loads of potential. Just wish there was more.

That being said, I did really enjoy the renovation mechanics of this game. I found it to be quite similar to "Train Station Renovation's" material system where the things that you can pick up are separated into 4 categories: Bricks, Rubble, Wood, and Metal. You can use these materials accordingly to build new buildings or repair existing ones throughout the levels. I quite enjoyed this mechanic!

Getting to take apart vehicles such as planes and boats was neat too. They were great for gathering materials and were quite nice to get out of the way.

Overall this game is relaxing and satisfying. It is also educational at times. It's just too short. I'll still give this a thumbs up though as the price was somewhat reasonable. If you're on the fence about this game, I would wait for a sale. There's not enough content to warrant full price.

Pros:
- Relaxing and satisfying gameplay
- Educational for learning about specific situations in WW2
- Neat renovation mechanics

Cons:
- Too short for price tag. (18 hours for multiple level replays and 100% completion.)
- Physics on vehicles are pretty buggy.
- Shadow men sequences, while neat, really break the flow of gameplay
- Inconsistent framerate

So, overall, I would recommend you pick up this game while it's on sale. I simply can't recommend it at full price for how much you get. I seriously hope they consider adding more levels in more locations in the future.

TLDR: Too short for full price, but pretty good renovation game otherwise.

A cathartic experience for me - post war child north of England - this was probably the best simulation I have ever been involved with. Game play was challenging and very smooth - to be honest I can't fault it and the developers clearly wear a Polish heart on their talented sleeves. I am glad I spent the money to take a trip down memory lane -
After countless hours playing computer games this is my first review so you can tell that I am not easily impressed - there are some excellent games out there and this is one of the best - my opinion of course -
you may see things differently but then you may never have walked through streets full of rubble and I hope you never have to. love light and peace!

The game has a special place in my heart.
At it's core it is quite a good clean up/renovation game. Not as intricate as some mechanic games out there but with something which turned out would be much more important to me: respect for the "source material".

I'm from Hamburg and standing in the ruins of St. Nikolai and putting back together what I could, was one of the most touching moments I have ever experienced in gaming.

I can't speak for the other maps, but Hamburg is really close to reality, immediately recognizable.
Also being refered to as "Trümmerfrau" really brought the situation home for me.

The flashbacks, the comments from the rare NPCs and the collectibles show astonishing depth and the big effort that was put into the atmosphere.

So if you are interested in recent history, like clean up games, just want a place of calm introspection or you just want to know what was left, after the nazis were finally defeated, I would absolutely recommend this game.

Preemptive TLDR; The price is right. If you find joy in dad games, have no fear. Hit the buy button and thank me later. The load time at startup needs work. Go make a coffee and it'll be waiting for you. Don't let the haters scare you off.

Did you play Power Wash Simulator? WHY NOT?! Never-mind, it's fine....This game gives that same feel. Just getting ♥♥♥♥ done. It's got a nice little side story for the history nerds, but really it's just:
1. Enter area that is a mess.
2. Clean up the mess.
3. ????
4. Profit.

This game knows what I need and is not a selfish lover.
10/10 Would clean up war torn cities again.
