can someone offer a hint or nudge? (post-antechamber)
i've managed to get into the antechamber and collect the basement key. just going by how it looks and the "go down" message accompanying it, im assuming it's for the lift in the foundation. but after poking around in the foundation for a good like 15 minutes maybe i have absolutely no idea how to get the lift down. what am i missing?

in terms of permanent progression ive unlocked the orchard, outer room, gemstone cavern, and ive lit all four blue torches. theres one blank spot left on my permanent additions.

You get the lift down in foundation by building a connecting room to the closed side of foundation. inside that room where the door would be leading to closed part of foundation is a lever--that lowers the it

As far as I know to move forward with foundation you need to have a room next to foundation that has exit pointing to a wall in a foundation

4th permanent unlock is Allowance, giving you some starting money each run

Allowance isn't listed in "permanent additions"

The one OP is missing is Blackbridge Grotto, which is unlocked by doing the lever puzzle in the lab

Ah, you're right, forgot about that one, nasty one, needs bit of luck with rooms to unlock

what. how would i have ever found this out except my pure accident? i dont see anything in the room that tells me i should build a room on its closed side.

im like 99% sure i actually know how to solve that puzzle, but luck with room drafts is keeping me from actually solving it. is there some sort of strategy to get a good layout thatll let me at it? or do i really have to just get lucky.

If a room has power running to it through the ducts it raises the chance of drafting another room with ducts in it.

It's still not 100% guaranteed, but it helps!

i did not know this actually, thank you. now i have to memorize which rooms have ducts running through them @_@

EDIT: Just discovered the Master Bedroom for the first time. It has a note that explicitly details how to lower the foundation lift in no uncertain terms. This seems to be the intended method of discovery.

I also found the lever for the elevator by accident. It made me wonder if there's also a lever behind the pool. But I think the pool only draws on the edges of the mansion.

When a room is powered and you open a door to leave, the draft shows which rooms it can give power to. Its a blue line, hard to miss
