Winger ratings suck!!!
Despite my tactic, and many tactics, working well with a winger (s) role, there aren't many players that fit that role. Trying to find a left footed winger in the AML role and get a good star rating is very limited. I have Chiesa and he's gone down to 3 stars...he's the best option I've been able to find in the game

I have found that Inside Forwards are still better than Inverted Wingers. In real life I don't there are many that are world class and effective. In terms of the ME, I still find traditional wingers work so much better for me. If I am at a club that don't have many or any, I just use Wing Backs and go with two forwards.

Yeah, wingers are the only ones that keep width for most the time and really important to my tactic, otherwise the middle just becomes too packed...which inevitably happens anyway on the ME. Looking to turn Alphonso Davies into a winger and the best option in the game by the looks of things. Kinda weird though that there aren't many options for players that rate well in role of winger

I also tried when trying to use IW’s to set them to stay wider when without the ball, but that didn’t seem to yield much benefit as I like to play with slightly wider width rather than narrow. 4-2-3-1 wide is my favourite formation as I much prefer wing play. As you say the default ME tactics seem to bundle every player in to the middle, but traditional wingers stay out wide. The right one on attack mentality can be devastating. Davies though is a bit of a monster and in real life he got converted to a wing back by Bayern, so pretty sure you should be successful by retraining him.

Just that his finishing sucks haha

Dont go for star ratings alone. Search for a player that fits your tactic - does he needs to be hardworking or maybe a fast dribbler. What do you want his position to do? Then youll find alot of very good wingers - only problem has that winplay has been pretty ♥♥♥♥♥ in this years ME

Inclined to agree here. Wing play on the native foot side for me has been very good, but admittedly IW and IF positions don't seem to fit my style of play. The ME is pretty shocking all round on many levels.

Alphonso Davies is really the only quality left winger in the game

Victor Hugo scored 28 goals for me on the left wing in my first season in the Premier League playing as Barnett. Inverted Winger isn't even his best position.

There may have been a lot of luck involved, though; the guy's expected goals versus actual goals was pretty out of whack.

Sancho dumfries whoever whohas right foot on the right. Left is more trcky but i play now narrow 433 ifs attack pressing fwd supp and wingbacks. The wide players are all set to stay wider like klopp does. My only prob is pressing fwd on supp- if i give him f9 he scores but less pressing on pressing fwd he is exaclty like klopps pool its flat front 3 pressing high but hard for him to score
