Cheating
Can someone please explain to me why anyone would want to cheat to win trophies in Football Manager. What is the point, what satisfaction can there be in winning titles and cups when you have to cheat to do it. To me, if you have to cheat to win a trophy you must be a crap manager. Try winning trophies without having to resort to cheating.

Who cares how anyone else plays the game! However people find enjoyment playing a game is their business, not yours. Take your terrible gatekeeping elsewhere.

For a start there are not any cheat codes in FM, just ways to exploit a situation. Secondly, who you to call anyone a crap manager. Who are you to tell anyone to play the game? Grow up and take your stupidity elsewhere.

Yeh you right its a waste of time to edit db and cheat with tool in this game. Last time i cheated was save scumming maybe in 2006 or 2007 version i wssnt even 15 and i wanted to take my local club into uefa cup. But you can see the cheating in leaderboards it looks like top 5 people hacked the server and just wrote a random multi million number. XD sad blokes

I can see both sides of this. If I was playing a serious save, I wouldnt do the save, sim, repeat...or use the editor. But on the other hand, there are times that I just want to have fun...so I take a amateur side (Yea, it is from a custom DB) and I give them the max amount of money I can, then have fun bringing them up from nothing.

Is that cheating? Maybe, but I am enjoying myself...and I am playing to relax, so why not?

Some might say that if you have to play a game to win trophies, rather than doing it in real life, then you're a crap manager too...

the problem is mby i can do it in real life but you cant do it even in game. that is the difference.
I mean i had coaches in our local clubs, and in village clubs that knew something about football and played it for atleast 20 years. And that is low number im saying.
I played football in my village vs a player that played for Dukla Banska Bystrica vs Benfica and other clubs in uefa and is top scorer of slovak highest division to this day so...i think nobody has more goals than Semenik in our top division and our coach went for 3 at the back tactic and that guy scored vs us in 85 min so we had no chance to turn it back :D.

I just say even in lowest division of football you can find people that know what are they doing either big managers that retired or profi retired football players.

And i play this game to have fun and get a some sort of challenge but what challenge is in cheating? tell me can you cheat on the pitch? i dont think you can apart from rolling down after every contact if we call that cheating. But with that attitude you dont come far. I saw that many people now who play fm never played football and play big balls like they are some Ronaldinho or something :D. And then without the knowledge of game they turn on fm and start editing stuff

It's your game. Do what you want. If you want to give yourself 5 billion pounds and transfer all the best players to your team for free, do that.

I might enjoy playing as realistically as possible. Others want to just watch their wonderkids develop or aim for that perfect 'invincibles' season, no matter how it's achieved. It's your game - enjoy it how you want to enjoy it.

I see I have upset a few people., tough. I voiced an opinion which is my right as it is yours to reply to it. And to the person who called me a moron, you are entitled to your opinion but to call someone a moron is unacceptable and rude. I suggest that you grow up you insignificant little person..

No one even called you a moron. And your response is to tell them to grow up and then insult them doing exactly the same thing?? Just accept that maybe your point of view is largely in the minority and move on.

Cheating in all games is stupid in general. But if you cant win there are only two options you either bad or you are bad. No cheat in world makes you win you lose anyway part of you even when you gain money like in poker :) you only cheat yourself. So get better at the game outplay them and you have no reason to cheat :D you will keep up even when everyone around you cheats.
That means you can still win just get good and you will beat the cheaters with fair play. But that is the long route the easy and mongoloid route is to cheat and feel good for 5 minutes enjoy the money until they catch you and then feel the regret or just live with bad consciousnes for rest of your life. Your choice. I choose the get good part

That's complete nonsense! Games are a past time and most people play them because they are fun or they make them relax. You don't get to tell people how to enjoy themselves and you also shouldn't shame people so you can feel better about yourself. It's not yours or my place to tell people how they spend their time gaming. You can play games however you like, but what you don't get to do is tell people they are wrong for playing how they want to.

Im just lecturing them to not make the mistakes i did as a kid. I dont know about fun but from a point of view that you want to know something about the game and get something from the game cheating dont help you in this xD. I had fun cheating as kid in football manager but i could achieve that without save scumming and i would remember it better and with more pride than i do now when i cheated and loaded the exact same match 3 times in a row just to get to Uefa cup. It could take longer, more seasons but the reward would be incomparable.
The thing you are saying is like let people do what they want nobody cares :D very bad mentality. Thats why we have poeple here that call themselves it, or they :D i mean how many they are they :D if there is more than 1 let him pay ticket to ride for all they are not just 1.
And if it is it then they belong to Adams Family they had a cousin called It. It was a very hairy person no disrespect to him btw

Thats why cheating is banned in all sports. Be it doping or whatever. Poker. Casino plays. Cheating ruins sport. If you dont understand it you need to learn what is freedom and what it means to be free. Find some philosophy teacher. Atleast phdr because you are telling me nothing while i give you arguments. Go learn what is freedom and why cheating everywhere is banned and prohibited. Ask mr armstrong where are his tour de france trophies
