What's with player sales?!

So this is my 12th FM. This is by FAR the most difficult it has ever been to sell a player.
Previously, if you buy a decent player cheap, have a good season with them whilst winning a trophy or two - they sell for more. This version (so far) it seems impossible to offload somebody. I prefer a young team - but I can't offload my 20+ goal scorer last season for any amount... it just seems off. Has anybody had a similar experience?

What I did notice is that it is kind of weird how offers are being made. For example you offer someone for sale on day X, nobody is interested… but you do the same a few days after, a week or two (same terms) and you get offers… just keep offering them every couple of days or at least once a week. Do increase frequency in the transfer window(s). Also don’t be afraid to ask for more what they are valued (not always though). I know because I sold half of MU.

Another tip is that sometimes instead of just asking for a full price, make it half and another half in installments. Sometimes it makes it easier to negotiate. And then once you get the offer, remove the installments and try going for the full price. Some clubs agree even if they wouldnt innitially show interest to pay full price. Or you could try doing what i did with Martial. Played him a lot first season and Arsenal was willing to pay 55 mil at some point after offering him out like 20 times at different times in game. But he woudn’t go there because PSG was also interested. The problem though, they would not pay that much… they would give only 30something up front… but instead they agreed to pay $250k for every games played for 50 games. The deal ended up being 52 mil but still not bad.

If you can’t sell somebody one season. Try the next. Fred wouldnt go to Newcastle in season 1 for 30 mln, but went next season to Arsenal for the same price. I did offer him more often but all I got were like 17 mln offers from Barcelona and Atalanta which i turned down.

Long story short; keep offering your players for sale as often as possible for you never know what might trigger someone’s interest.

Loans are way off for me though. For example, Diallo at MU plays for U-23. 5 clubs interested in loaning him to play first squad. One of them Marseille, refuses to go… come on bro, don’t understand that kind of thinking. Or another wont go on loan if no buy-out clause is part of deal. Or clubs cancelling their loan offers if you remove the option to sell player after season… or Williams (2 star MU player), no 1 squad action but won’t accept to go play for Wolfsburg or Frankfurt on loan. Both good teams in Bundesliga. Sometimes I just don’t understand AI’s decisions.

This doesn’t make it unplayable but I would give it a slight polish to make players more willing to accept other offers that look good for them. It’s a game in the end… we here to have fun xD
