Is it worth buying FM 22 if already have FM 21?
Is there any big changes in FM 22 over FM 21 or is it more of the same?

I always think of skipping a year but always end up buying it, i've bought every FM game since 2009.

No I wouldnt bother - just stick to data updates on FM21. Wish I had.

Same old garbage.

Seeming like FM 21.5 with this years edition.

But many have said that the Match Engine seems to have improved some. The animations aspect of the ME is what people point to as the selling point.

Additionally stamina is a real factor in this year's game and apparently you nor the AI opponent can't exploit the gengenpress or use a high pressing style all the time.

Match engine is 1000 times worse. It does not look like football, more like FIFA. They still can't make a square pass for tap in after playing together 2 years, but now Sterling outjumps VVD and every second cross is goal.

its both better and worse, but i reckon they will eventually get there with this version, sometimes it might not feel like a good idea to buy this game, but in the end i personally always end playing the new version, even with flaws and all.

Do you want to start a new save with current squads, transfers and competition rules?

If yes, then it's worth it. If you're happy to continue your FM21 save (or start a new 21 save) then it's not worth it.

I've been buying every other year since FM18 now, I'd recommend it, especially if you're a one save per FM person like me! I even considered skipping FM22 too, but there are issues in my FM20 save (mostly editor screw ups by me, crazy fixture congestion in some countries) so I'm ready to start a new save, might as well do that in the new game.

I regret getting it this year but last years was a bit flat too. Last couple I really enjoyed were 11 and 17. This is the problem with a game that has to release a full priced new version every year, and desperately has to add some 'extra' excuses/features for players to upgrade, irrespective of whether the new feature are needed or not and Irrespective of whether the last game was finished or not. A new full priced updated engine every three years, with cheaper, paid for updates in the two years in between would result in a more professional, better quality product. The fans have always been vocal about this, and S.I games have always ignored them.

Tired of updates from the team saying things that are faulty would be sorted in the 'next' version or the one after that. I've played this franchise since the CM days and the lack of serious competition since Fifa Manager and LMA Manager back in 2001-2003 has led to a product that is consistently falling short of what it could be. While a monopoly isn't good for any field or franchise, it has been quite damaging for the evolution of this title.

The fact that after 20 years, many black, Indian and asian players still appear white, everybody has the same haircuts and little variation, little accuracy or effort has been put into looking anything like their real counterparts, should tell them that the product is either too rushed every year or just not putting the effort into improving and updating their team/creation.

It'll get to the point of apathy in the end, which is a shame.

They legally can't update a previous game.
"When we do our licensing deals, they are for a specific season and there comes a point where you have to stop selling the game as well. We only have the license for that club data, for example, for that particular season."
SI havn't ignored anyone. 2 different years = 2 completely different sets of licences. So, you can't have an updated season pack on a previous version of the game. At least not officially.
And, if that's what you would prefer. You'll find updated rosters for later seasons on older game versions. So, don't buy the new one and install that.

I think i'll give it a miss. I'm enjoying a save on FM 21 and don't want to start again. I'm not too fussed about having updated squads etc as usually i sign or sell players straight away. Also having seen about new features in FM 22, just seem like they are a upgrade from things already in FM 21 really. I'll see what FM 23 brings next year.

It's better, engine is improved, new dialogues and the transfers are a bit more polished too.
